Diabetes can become a barrier when getting a job.Or at least this is reflected in the example offered by the Government of Navarra, which has starred in several cases of labor discrimination by limiting access to places of the administration to people suffering from the disease, as reported from the Navarra Diabetes Association (Anadi)and the Federation of Spanish Diabetics (Fede).

Given this situation in repeated calls, the Foral Parliament has received a motion presented by the United Socialist Group and the United Left, appealing to a medical report of Occupational Health experts. However, the initiative has been rejected.

"The law goes behind reality"

In this regard, Andoni Lorenzo, president of Fede, claims that this pathology “ceases to be a barrier to labor insertion since medical, technical and training advances allow a self -control and a normal development of work activities.Once again, the law goes a step behind reality, and this must change, ”he denounces.

In this sense, the person responsible considers it necessary to develop a new legislation at the national level that guarantees “the labor incorporation without restrictions” of the more than 5 million people in Spain suffering from the pathology.

For his part, the president of Anadi, Juantxo Remón, explains that in certain work activities, such as police or firefighters, the Government of Navarra “prevents admission as a candidate for people with diabetes despite being trained to carry outThat work ", professing a" pure and hard discrimination. "

A medical report of the Endicronology and Nutrition Service of the Hospital Complex of Navarra accompanies the collective claims detailing that “diabetes should not be a general and initial reason for medical exclusion to opt for certain jobs” and advocates to assess each case of each case ofIndividual way taking into account the type of diabetes, treatment, degree of glycemic control, acute and chronic knowledge and complications to define whether a person is suitable or not stop that job.

This post is related to this other:

Navarra refuses to withdraw the "discrimination" of candidates with opposition diabetes
... Parliament of Navarra has rejected ... a motion to ... "eliminate the discrimination suffered by applicants suffering from diabetes in previous calls in selective personnel processes at the service of the public administrations of Navarra or private companies."

That would be the right thing to assess each case individually

To start the right thing it would be to give us a 33% disability, because we have a part of our body that does not work and that also impacts us on many plots of our life ... I were hehe would hire diabetics, but more because of empathy that on the otherthing ... when I have a hypoglycemia my brain for a few hours yields in half ... Of course I tried that at the end of the day the production was that of a normal day.Come on, I think we need that 33% disability to help compensate for that negative point of the CV ...

Totally agree with Tica.I have seen disabilities give less important (and serious) things than diabetes. My niece gave 33% for diabetes (in Catalonia) but with the crisis and cuts were removed ...
I have 38% but it is for foreign causes (they do not even know that I am diabetics). If I said it, they would increase it - it should be as -as things are and seeing what I see at the moment I do not get better ...

Well, if Nina45, almost better not to touch it because they take it, when the disability goes up, they give you a partial disability, with a pension corner that you do not live with that with what you have to continue working and they limit your professional activity, do notThey let work more than x hours or only in x works. That has happened to an acquaintance of mine who is autonomous just like me and what has happened is that he has more annoyed life, with a painful pension and not being able to work in his business

Already daughter ... that you are going to tell me to me that I do not know ... (I play these issues) ...
The situation is painful and are removing pensions (which is even worse than removing the disabilities) to people who have granted it years ago and if you cannot afford to spend two years without charging while or not your judgment comes out ... you fuck (oh forgive) and to work without power ...
Pensions are being removed to the decreased psychic ... can fall lower?
