Hello everyone, I come from the ophthalmologist and the truth that with a lot of downturn.I have detected microhemorrhages in the right eye, the doctor has told me that they are very scarce and that I do not worry, that after so many years being diabetic it is normal for small things to begin to appear and that if I continue with the good control that everything goesTo go well but the truth is that I am very sad, it is the first time that something happens to me for diabetes and finally, it is shit.Well, I only write to vent because surely you understand me.
All the best.

Well, to see what Mr. @Oftalmologo tells you but I understand that if it is detected soon as in your case with good control it slows down a lot.

Just out of curiosity, in the 26 years you have been evolving, you always had a good control like now, or have you had bad years?

Much encouragement, surely doesn't get worse.

Courage and don't worry that it will be nothing. It will not serve you as comfort but to me, officially debuting in September, they have already given me 4 laser sessions in each eye, I have macular edemas and an epirinian membrane in both for which they have to operate and all doctors insist on whatRare that I know in someone so young, that it takes care of it and, although it could be possible for diabetes to exist before the debut, these things usually occur with many years behind their backs.

The lasers are nothing, they pass fast, they barely hurt and, in addition, they have not even been told to give them to you.Calm@

If you refer to microaneurisms, they are very frequent in people with long -distance diabetes, and about 75% of people with diabetes will develop them throughout their lives. That evolves already depends on many factors, some of them personal, but do not worry. They can stay like this for many years without giving more problems.

@pike Well, I also send you a lot of courage! The truth is that it is very rare, the injuries you have are caused by diabetes? Can't it be anything else?I have a relative with macular edemas for example but it is not diabetic.Anyway, life is this, and you have to go "palante"
Thank you!

@Hansolo The doctor has put in the Microhemorragias report but I understand that it is the same as you and exactly what you tell me is what she told me, that after so many years of diabetes it is very common and that following a good control ofThe same and making reviews does not have to happen anything but I have been quite chafada.Anyway, it is what there is, thank you very much for your words!

Hello,
@nigiri, it's normal for you.I have been evolving for 23 years and 11 years ago I was diagnosed with non -proliferative retinopathy, and I took a bad control for a long time in adolescence and others. With 25 years, as I was diagnosed, it was very hard, but seeing that it was something that could stagnate a good control I was overcoming it.Having spent 11 years already and with good control is still there without advancing, so courage !!!Every year in the review I scare me ... because you never know and even if you carry good control we can have these things.

Well, obviously, having microeneurisms or microhemorrhagia after 26 years of illness, and more after having had periods of bad control in youth (do not feel guilty for that, it is very common), it is perfectly assumed. But it does not make much sense to discuss whether they are hemorrhages or aneurysms, because it is simply impossible to know without a more complete exploration, which must necessarily include an AFG (angiography with fluorescein).I do not agree with your ophthalmologist in minimizing the presence of injuries by unimportant that they seem.It seems to me that you should go to a retinologist who will be more familiar with your illness.
I have already explained on occasion that the background exploration supplies the same information as the visualization of an iceberg: we are only seeing part of the problem. In addition, bleeding is a consequence of a process and not a process in itself, and not all have the same production mechanism. It is not the same, nor do they mean the same, a superficial hemorrhage than a deep, nor one that is located within an ischemic territory, which is only identifiable by AFG.
That said, the state of your illness seems very incipient but after having spent 25 years fighting it, I have learned to respect it and not undervalue it.In principle, it seems to me that a pathology that is not reversible and that only has the possibility of worsening must be treated as it is diagnosed, and the best thing is that the diagnosis is as early as possible.
I do not know if you have read what I have written in the retinopathy forum, but I think it is sufficiently explained and it is not necessary to deepen more.In any case, if you want you to clarify any questions, I will do it with pleasure

Joer, a lot of encouragement with that, but do not be alarmed or overwhelmed. It is the first complication that usually appears and the best treatment has caught well in time. What seems strange to me is @pike with such a short time evolution ... We have been diagnosed for the same time and the truth is that it is weird.Cheer up!!!!

@Oftalmologo then, what do you recommend?Go to a retinologist?I had thought about waiting for my next visit with the endocrine that I have in May and that he told me, the ophthalmologist who has seen me today has told me that there is no specific treatment for something as small as what I have, that I continue to controlWell diabetes and point, should I do something already?I ask for a second opinion?

@xorxie Thank you very much!

The treatment of diabetic retinopathy is not complex, but knowing the retinopathy if it is.And for that it is necessary to see many patients, and know how they evolve with early and without it.Unfortunately, that is beyond the reach of a general ophthalmologist.I recommend that you go to a medical retina specialist.Surely your endocrine can guide you.And above all do not overwhelm. The disease is irreversible but with good metabolic control, it takes a long time to evolve.

Quiet, @aliciaalicia.Most likely, if you have not explained you thoroughly about the lasers, it was not important.

Thank you@pike, but I have a streak that seems that I have been misunderstood, and that I do not believe in those things. Many encouragement with the operation is really very rare what happens to you.

@nigiri have not treated me with anything, neither laser nor anything, only with good control has stagnated for 11 years, and keep it like this!even with pregnancy through almost 4 years ago.According to what you tell and what they have told you is like what I have, the slightest of retinopathy. We just have to take care of ourselves!
