Access to public employment offers sometimes is difficult for people with diabetes or HIV.Although, a priori this should not be so because organizations such as the International Labor Organization (ILO) or the results of some scientific studies have determined that living with these diseases does not imply any damage to work performance, some associations have denounced thatIf discrimination is occurring access to several positions of the State Security Forces and Forces.
Cessida, unions and associations have asked the Government for a state pact to respond to HIV in Spain and to reduce, in this way, "the negative impact on the work world" is the case, for example, of the state coordinator ofHIV Y AIDS (CESIDA) that, in a joint commission with the CC.oo.and UGT, and FELGTB associations and working positivein the work world ”.
In this sense, these platforms have urged the Government that HIV infection be classified as infectious-transmissible instead of infectious-contagious.On the other hand, they have requested the Executive chaired by Mariano Rajoy, to reinforce active employment policies, especially in the training area and reduce in the professional qualification of those most vulnerable groups.
C’s and PSOE ask for it in Congress
These claims have also been supported by the PSOE and Citizens who, through the Registry in the Congress of Deputies of several propositions not law (NLP), have demanded that they be discussed in a Health Commission.In them, they collect the complaints of cessation that have notified cases about access to several positions of the body of assistants of penitentiary institutions, the Civil Guard, military bodies or the National Police.
Both parties have requested that any requirement be eliminated that in access to these jobs may mean the direct elimination of HIV -infected candidates or people with diabetes, in the case of the NLP of the orange formation, they urge the government to whichEliminate "all that requirement in access to a public worker position that may assume the direct elimination of HIV -infected candidates."For its part, the text of the PSOE also affects this aspect, pointing out that the characteristics of the work and individual conditions of each person are valued, and preventive measures are adopted to “preserve the equal rights of the bearers of the virus”
Regarding the discrimination of diabetes patients in access to public employment, the Socialist Party has registered another initiative in the same direction.The NLP urges the Government to “in the shortest possible time” adopts the necessary measures “to make it impossible that the diagnosis of diabetes is the cause of generic exclusion for access to public employment”, as the Federation has denounced on other occasionsSpanish diabetes (Fede).
