Surprising phrases of my dietitian.

Hello everyone,

Since I debuted, there is an issue that is very funny to me: the beautiful phrases of the doctors and doctors.

My dietitian is a lovely woman who is helping me a lot with my new way of feeding myself, but sometimes she says a bit surprising things.

I know that he does it with the best intention, and although the consultations sometimes last almost an hour, I cannot avoid commenting these phrases with my partner and we laugh a lot.

Here I write some that I remember:

1. "Think that my goal is that you are totally integrated into society."(Does this mean that it doesn't see me as someone strange? What do I have three arms? What do I come from another planet?)

2. "You are not a drug addict, you're just a little sick."(With this phrase I was speechless for a month and I could not even answer; even now, when writing it, I laugh when I remembered it).

3. "You don't have to live for diabetes, but live with diabetes."(This was the first one that told me, and then turned out to be the first sentence of a book that lent me ... hahaha!)

4. "When you go down the street, you don't notice that you are diabetic."(Well, less bad ...)

5. "Your acquaintances never tell you 'Why don't you eat anymore if you are very thin?'(I'm thin, but it's not to tell me these things indirectly).

This is a tribute to my dietitian and I promise that, if you tell me any more of these pearls, I will share them.

By the way, have you ever told you phrases of this style?

Fortunately neither my stup-end nor my educator are "Asin" ...
But I have heard many dumb in all this time ...

Those of us who have diabetes are like Matrix, you discover another world and other inhabitants of the world :))
Normally you discover them by the marks on the fingers, because they ask for saccharin after eating the entire rib of the fosters or less common because you see them clicking.
It is not uncommon for me to see any reactive strip on the street ...:-/ It happens to me with a frequency: !:: !:!

Hello: curious the phrases of your dietitian. It helped me a lot to listen to two phrases that a doctor from the Emergency Hospital in Denia told me, where I went for a rookie at the beginning that they discovered that I had Mellitus 1, because I ate a coca, typical food from the area that is made with flourof refined wheat and vegetables, pizza type, baked. The fact is that glucose rose to Cási 500 and as I was so afraid for the things I started to listen to amputations, blindness and more, I went to the hospital, where the doctor explained that I had to change the insulin and the doses and thephrases that told me was first: that insulin should be adapted to my needs and not me to insulin, and the other was, this one, that I told manumotero when he felt a little pretended like me at the time he saidDoctor to see the face of overwhelmed that I was put when I was talking about changing insulinas and doses, he said: come and surely you have done more difficult things in your life! ...

Pearls of the "offender":
"Madam, the Lantus does not exist"
"Lady, swim is not exercise"

Phrase from an emergency doctor when Celia entered by hypoglycemia with loss of knowledge and uncoordinated, because she did not answer the questions of that "eminence":
"Lady, is this girl always so memosa?

I leave one, but of the good ones, of which they serve for something, at least to me, it is worth;
"... and what if you have to take a pill, and perhaps within some time, insulin?Artificial. The important thing is that you have what you need to live. "

Because sadly we have no phrases to put.The only thing that asks my daughter is that how it carries it, and how it takes it well, there is the consultation. In the last one we were, one hour waiting to enter, we asked him about free, about the insulin ports ... and had no idea what we were talking about .... Early it is wasting time.
The longest conversation we had was during his entrance, he came, left us glucometers, punctors, needles, strips, books ...... And he said: I am the educator of Mary, here you have everything that will need (weHe explained how we worked for nothing because our head was not yet prepared, we were trying to assimilate the news), as is Friday and I do not return to Monday, you look at everything and if you have any doubt on Monday we talk.We no longer saw her again until the day of discharge.
Thank you, I have you.

Hello!!!It does not happen as to @rociollinares, a little different but for the case ... the educator who attended us on the day of the diagnosis of Iago, overwhelmed us with information that day and the following that was admitted. Then I learned that I retired that week @-) and have put another one in their place that does not find out about the Mass, half.Because one day that the pen for the apidra goes and tells us:
-When you use the first time you purify the ...
To which I answer:
-We always purge before clicking because they taught us like that ...
I left her speechless, because he didn't answer anything, nor did he tell me, you will spend a lot of insulin or anything ...
For us the endocrine does that function, of educator, and the truth is that it does quite well.It is not that it is very motivating sometimes, but for that we are already that we are optimistic and motivating ...
And thanks to all of you, I learn a lot and when I know, I tell myself, I don't know anything.
Thank you all !!!

I will tell everyone that I am laughing and laughing ha ha, ha !!!!, because I have not had any of those experiences because I don't even remember how it was the first time with a professional and how, in my careerI already have several generations of professionals who are retired pensioners and every time I start with one I already serve as a teacher with an experience of tens of years on the subject and what, they always tell me: "Ok Senora, do how you see whatmore convenient and congratulate her because today I teach me things and made very, very important comments to address the next patients who are in the hawk: remain the same and we wait for her with great Carino "

How many coincidences @rociollinares !!:)), I don't know if we can rejoice or cry ...
Last week the lack of diabetes specialist nurses in Galicia came out in a newspaper, but I see that it is not just here.
I keep saying that less bad that we have each other to learn and help us.Thank you very much to @Fer for being there and publishing these always interesting articles and some hopeful, and others thanks for being there when we need you and when not also = D>

@Rociollinares I would go to patient care to put a complaint ... It is a service that occurs correctly in other autonomies and you have the right to dedicated care that teaches you to eat, to control the diet and your doses.
If we don't complain, the situation does not change.

I was lucky, I was going several days in a row when the educator when debuts, but I played a super strict "Taliban";It is committed that the BMI must be about 18-19 and puts you at a strict regime even though you are already thin;I have not been hungry in my life ...

I do not have to go to an educator, but the year before I was diagnosed I made an analytics that I had approved but not done since time for the private and seeing results and as I was Pedi quoted in the endocrine. When he saw and explain (cholesterol and high triglycerideI needed was a psychologist.

The following year they diagnosed me and sent me to the endocrine, I played the same one that I had been in the private one.My mother biting her tongue all the consultation because I asked her not to tell her anything and asking that if she had seen her before my face sounded and I under the table to my mother to shut up and did not tell her.

@Jaime37, because that is a clear case of excess of slow and lack of fast.
There are endocrine who want to solve with slow and do not recipe quickly, .., as if it were all kinds.

I have a pretty bad memory ... I started with 8 years the diabetes,

I put you in a situation, my "doctor" was a quite bitter woman, years later I learned that something happened to the husband, but with 8 years you can not tell the child Perlitas as:

-You can't break breakfast, only half -nated milk with nothing, or coffee, you could only half a teaspoon of eko

-In my diet, I had to eat vegetables yes or yes, tomorrow and night, without the possibility of skipping one day, I told me that if I did not eat vegetables, I put a nasogastric probe (I did not even know that it was that)

- I put insulin 5 times a day (I changed hospital, obviously, and went to 3)

- I didn't eat for portions, I always had to eat the same and the same quantities.

- In a routine analysis, I had to carry the urine in different boats, for schedules, and one day that I did not pee in one of the boats, he told me (literal): - What happens that when you screw up, do not me or what?

And many various perlitas, but worst of all, remember that I was 8 years old ... (literal):

-What do you know that you are not going to get hard, you will not be able to fuck ... and I didn't even know what I was telling me ... Anyway.

My mother already said, so far we have arrived ... And I change my hospital ...

And my erections are great today ... 😆 😆 😆, I take it with humor, but it was to tell 4 things to the guy ...
