The Minister of Health of the Government of La Rioja, José Ignacio Nieto, and the president of the Association 'Education for the health of people with diabetes in La Rioja (infodiabetes)', Pedro Miguel Rojas, have signed during the morning of Wednesday of this Wednesday, May 4, a collaboration agreement, through which the Ministry will finance, with 3,814.41 euros, various health programs of said group.
The Association 'Education for the health of people with diabetes de la Rioja' (infodiabetes) aims to raise awareness of the general public, the media, the sick and family, and to health professionals about diabetes.To do this, they carry out educational programs for prevention, nutrition and physical exercise to diabetes patients.
Its objective is to improve the quality of life of diabetes patients, disseminating scientific research in relation to diabetes and social awareness programs for early diagnosis and prevention of complications.
In addition, they offer psychological and social help to the diabetic patient, defend their rights and social integration and conduct education courses for diabetes for patients, family members and society in general.
To do this, they will give various conferences on issues related to diabetes in La Rioja Alta, which is their area of influence, and will carry out dissemination campaigns on diabetes, by edition of an informative newsletter.
They also participate in days and congresses, and carry out education courses for diabetes aimed at patients, family and health professionals.The association currently has 247 members.
