Hello, I have a question: Why can't Type 1 diabetics take Forxiga? My family doctor prescribed it to me and I was doing greatly, however, when I went to the endocrine I suspended the treatment immediately because it is only indicated for type 2 diabetics. I do not understand it, the truth.I debuted with 50 years and I put a novorapid and toujeo 32 at night.Greetings for everyone.

Well, mainly because it is a drug for type 2 diabetes, which has nothing to do with a type 1 diabetes. The use of this medicine has side effects between them renal failure, which already in itself, in a type 1 diabeticexposed, in addition to weight loss and dehydration.

Yes, but renal failure is also suffered by type 2 diabetics. I mean that disease derived from diabetes are suffered by both type 1 and type 2, right?
