Hello!

How many minutes before eating do you click fast insulin?

It happens to me that a glucose peak is always generated after eating.

Thank you!

It depends on how you have glucose about the time you will eat and especially what you will eat.

An hour before do you usually put it?
What do you usually take into account? The glycemic index?

@glucosino

I put the quick insulin about 15 m before each meal, except that it is in 90. Then I put the insulin just when I start eating. If the food has many fats and proteins, I put half of the insulin at the beginning (15 m before) and the other at the end of eating to avoid the rebound effect of fats and proteins, but that is my case

All the best

The Fiasp insulin (Novonordisk), which is a quick insulin, can be put between 0 and 2 minutes before eating.

I have no bomb!
That involves two punctures, but only exceptionally if as a lot of fat and protein, which is not my case normally. But I have noticed that in strong meals it is doing very well.

The normal thing is 15 m before and I avoid peaks.

@Ruthbia What is the reason for putting it an hour earlier at breakfast?

@glucosino In the morning we all have insulin resistance.
I have proven that at 50 min begins to take effect, at that time breakfast and with a flat curve

@Ruthbia wow! What good data, the truth that my breakfasts go up a lot, I will try to advance with insulin and wait a few minutes to eat.

Very grateful to these data, this a doctor or nurse does not know how to tell you.

@glucosino I do not wear it an hour before, it depends on how I have glucose on eating time, at the time I will eat, go.If I have it above 90 I put it about 15 minutes before, if I have it below, I wear it after eating or in the middle of the food but above all it also depends a lot on whether I am going to drink carbohydrates or not and notIf I take, how much quantity.
