The president of the Diabetes Foundation, Erik Lommerde, and the president of the Federation of Spanish Diabetics (Fede), Andoni Lorenzo Garmendia, signed on Wednesday a collaboration agreement in order to enhance and jointly develop the defense of the defense ofthe rights of people with diabetes in Spain and the improvement of their quality of life.
This Agreement will mainly serve to establish synergies in the promotion of diabetological education, both for people with diabetes -empowering knowledge and skills, and training them to assume control of pathology -and for health professionals, nutritionists and dietitians.In addition, the agreement also seeks to improve and promote information aimed at institutions, associations or companies that work in the field of health in general and diabetes in particular.
The collaboration between the Diabetes and Fede Foundation will last one year, throughout which both institutions will work in a coordinated manner to launch a series of actions with which to achieve their defense and improvement objectives of the quality oflife of people with diabetes.
Specifically, the Framework document includes the commitment to collaborate in the monitoring of the 'non -law proposition to improve care in schools to children with diabetes and allergies to food and latex' in the different autonomous communities andThe development of the protocol in the child diagnosis in diabetes.
