The Pontevedra school canteens will serve the Diabetic Children Personalized Menus, after the agreement reached by the Association of Nenos with Diabete de Galicia (Anedia), the Federation of Associations of Parents of Pontevedra and the company Serunion, which manages the public dating of the municipality of the municipality.

The company promised to adapt the recipes to the specific needs of each diabetic child that the dining room uses, following the indications provided by the families and the specialist doctor who attends the child.

"The menus, as in any other case," says Anedia, "will be varied, complete, healthy and balanced, because children with this chronic disease do not have to eat differently, you just have to offer the amount of carbohydrates indicated byyour specialist and avoid rapid absorption. "

Serunion currently already offers a diabetic menu but not adapted to the particularities of each child. From this moment on, all the dining rooms will be equipped with glucagon, a medicine that is applied in case of hypoglycemia with loss of knowledge, an endowment that "will result in the best attention to children and in the safety of their relatives", details Anedia.
