The provincial government, through the Ministry of Health and in articulation with the national portfolio, provided training on timely insulinization of the diabetic patient • It was destined for doctors of the first level of care • In addition, on the occasion, the bases satto form a micorred care of diabetic patients.
The Ministry of Health, through the Networks and Diabetes programs, and depending on the work articulated with the National Health portfolio provided a training on timely insulinization of which doctors from the first level of Paraná and Concordia participated.
In this regard, the Provincial Referent of the Network Program, Marcela Retamoso, indicated that “due to the high demand for hospitals endocrinology services, it is necessary to strengthen the human resource of the first level of care services, and that is why theMinistry of Health of the Nation convened, through the networks and diabetes programs, to the doctors of the first level to do this training. ”
From the Networks program, you work to strengthen health services networks, in this particular case putting the emphasis on the reinforcement of the first level of care in the diabetes.
With this training we sought to lay the foundations for forming a Micorred, in which a reference is designated in each health center of the different points of the trained departments to be able to decentralize and decompress the demand for care in their reference hospitals."From now on, the work of these professionals will be supported to continue this microred that is being armed and we will encourage fluid contact with local diabetes referents," Retamoso said.
For its part Liliana Medvetzky, trainer of the Ministry of Health of the Nation in the Network Area and who was in charge of the training, said that "since type two diabetes is a very widespread disease and that 80 percent of thePatients with this pathology are treated in the first level of care, the idea is that the doctors who attend them are trained to give them the best conditions for their pathology, and if among those solutions it is to prescribe insulin can be insulinized. "
It should be mentioned that the professional was accompanied by the doctor Alberto del Bo by the network training team.
• The course
The objective of the course was that first level professionals learn to insulinize to improve the care of the diabetic patient, and thus prevent recharging to the second level of care (hospitals).
For training, professionals from Paraná and Concordia were convened, which are the departments where the networks program is currently developed, which went to training in the month of September. After the initial day the professionals had three months of rotation for the diabetes service, and in this second meeting the closure of the course was held, where the trained health teams made presentations and talks based on the clinical cases observed in this interim.
Maximiliano Velázquez, participant of the course, considered: “In the first place it is a very important and very good course; Both for the organization and for the people who participated and the referents of diabetes, which since their humility and teaching have given us a very important tool for us to work from the first level of care ”.
• A global problem
This initiative arose when observing the prevalence of the disease, and that we are going through a time when chronic diseases make up one of the first causes of death worldwide and our country is no stranger to this trend.
The increase in life expectancy and the prevalence of theseChronic diseases in the population causes both national and provincial health levels to beFirst level of attention these issues are known. At the local level, training, Santa Cruz, Santiago del Estero and now Entre Ríos are being developed.
Through timely insulinization, diabetes related conditions can be avoided, among which the most important are cardiovascular complications such as the possibility of myocardial infarctions;brain complications; And complications such as diabetic or patients who have diabetic feet ulcers, “once they improve the level of their blood sugar, the patient improves, heal ulcers, improve diabetic standing lesions, and also improve neuropathies, that is to say the lesions of the peripheral nerves, ”said Medvetzky.
• Accompaniment from the Provincial Diabetes Program
The referent of the Provincial Diabetes and Cardiovascular Risk Program, Silvia Garbe, valued training as "very positive because we have trained a group of doctors from Paraná, Paraná Campaign and Concordia, who were rotating these three months by health centers and hospitals."
Garbe said: "We are working on training since the program is ten years ago, and the issue of insulin therapy has been working for approximately three and a half years."The diabetes program acquires and distributes insulin to effectors from the entire provincial territory, "then in those places where insulin is distributed, the idea is that it is used well, so together with the delivery of insulin and reactive strips, the commitment oftrain not only the doctor but also to health teams ";In that sense, training in Villaguay, Victoria, Maciá, Colón and Villa Paranacito have been developed from the program.
In the future it is proposed to continue working the delivery of inputs, and to evaluate the indicators of quality of care;“The idea is not only to use insulin, but to get the patient to feed well, to do physical activity, that hypertension is treated, in order to avoid complications such as blindness, amputations, dialysis, so that we would lower the costin health and high complexity, ”Garbe ended.(APFDIGITAL)
