On December 2, the Spanish Association for Sports with Diabetes whose acronym with AEDD was born. This is the first association at the state level that tries to promote and carry out all kinds of cultural and sports activities, so that the sport is included in the treatment of diabetes. The Spanish Association for Sports with Diabetes was born from Team One a sports team of people with diabetes that has wanted not only to support those people with diabetes interested in sports, but also lay some legal bases to move the message toThe society that sport can be a fundamental help in the treatment of diabetes, both type 1 and type 2. Glycemic control is scientifically proven, improves with the practice of sport.

A good decision in our opinion to become the Spanish Association for Sports with Diabetes, since civil society in general and the media in particular will take into account their messages and recommendations. From Channel Diabetes, we welcome this new association and put our website at your disposal publicly to use it as a speaker. We are also convinced of the importance of sport in diabetes.

The main mission of the Spanish Sports Association with Diabetes, is the dissemination, precisely, of the importance of sport in the treatment of diabetes;Through it, all of us who form it, we want to send the message that with diabetes, you can not only do sports, but should be done, demonstrating with our example and through all the activities that are developed from the association,The great benefits that sports practice has in the treatment of this disease.

In order for this message to have a greater scope, and more people with diabetes include sport in their treatment, through the Spanish Sports Association with Diabetes we will give way to different sports projects among which it is possible to highlight:

1) The realization of different sports and recreational activities focused from the idea of “sport for diabetes control”, aimed at transmitting an option to combine diabetes with the practice of different sports specialties.

2) Promote the participation of Team One members in different sports tests nationally and internationally.

3) The realization of educational activities aimed at helping to carry out proper control of diabetes in the daily life of the diabetic collective, or their relatives and people around, and especially knowing how to combine this disease with an active sports life.

4) Collaborate with the Department of Endocrinology of Public Hospitals, in order to facilitate advice and information to all those who debut in diabetes, in order to show them some guidelines to bring proper control of the disease and can solve their doubts throughof the participation of our members.

5) Celebration of talks, workshops and sports camps where activities related to diabetological education will be developed, especially in relation to sports activities of all kinds.
