The fourth edition of the online course in school will take place from next Tuesday, March 17, to April 27.This initiative is organized by the Ministry of Health and Education of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Federation of Diabetes Associations of the Canary Islands (Fadican), with the support of Novo Nordisk Pharma.
They will be able to access the course for free 100 teachers of schools dependent on the Autonomous Community.This initiative covers from children to high school.
In the course, updated training will be offered with a multidisciplinary approach that will go from medical and psychosocial to legal aspects.The objective is to improve the preparation of teachers of the islands to properly integrate students with diabetes in their day to day in the school environment.
One hundred teachers can be trained to favor the school adaptation of children with diabetes
Teachers can enroll sending an e-mail to the improvement service of the Teacher of the General Directorate of Educational Planning, innovation and PromotMarch.
The promoters remember that a well -informed school environment is decisive for the adequate development and quality of life of the child with diabetes.For years, associations of people with Diabetes de Canarias work to promote the proper school adaptation of these children, developed awareness and information projects in the centers.
The General Directorate of Public Health of the Canarian Health Service has coordinated the elaboration of the course giving priority to the preparation of the contents has been carried out from a multidisciplinary approach in type 1 diabetes.
