Specialists from the University of Navarra Clinic and the Hospital Complex will discuss on October 6, in the “Diabetes Update” forum on aspects related to this disease, such as the most appropriate diet for patients with diabetes, the complications that this pathology can lead toand its relationship with obesity.In addition, they will deal with the importance of exercise, new drugs and future perspectives, focusing their attention on the situation of the sick in Navarra.
In the event, organized by Clínica Universidad de Navarra and the Janssen Chair, the speakers will discuss different aspects and data related to diabetes, putting in common knowledge to be able to understand this disease from different fields, offer an integral vision and move towards a more actioncoordinated
The presentation will be carried out by the director of the Innovation Classroom in Pharmacological Therapy, Dr. Jesús Honorato.The event coordinator will be Dr. Javier Salvador, director of the Department of Endocrinology and Nutrition at the University of Navarra Clinic.

Among the participants, Dr. Javier Basterra, specialist of the Endocrinology and Nutrition Service of the Reina Sofía Hospital (Tudela) will address the theme of "Epidemiology of Diabetes";Dr. Javier Escalada, a specialist from the Department of Endocrinology and Nutrition of the Clinic, will expose the “new perspectives in type 1 diabetes” and nurse Elena Martínez, of the Day Hospital of the University of Navarra Clinic, will focus on the importance of thefood and diet to improve the quality of life of the sick.
