You say that a cure of diabetes will not be taken because then insulins, needles, etc. will not be sold?

That is what I thought when the laser operation began to be heard.I thought that could not be, that it would not be perfect, that it would not go forward, that people would not look good.He said: if they operate everyone from view, the oculists to unemployment, close the optics, ...

Has the operations work?YEAH
Has the occult profession disappeared?Have they closed optics?NO

With this I want to give a little optimism to these advances and that we think that a not very distant day has to arrive in which diabetes is gradually healing

This of the encapsulated beta cells of Viacyte there is no one who stops it, very powerful companies such as Johnson & Johnson are being put that they are seeing that here is a good business, and there is no very ready to realize.
Link

The FDA as always will make everything as slow as possible, as it does with all the things they can cure, but if this really works it will end.
For that there are still years left, ID saving that thousands of euros will be worth it and it will have to be changed more or less once a year ... you will have to go out and mess it very fat, burn many things to pay us the SS.

Let's see, optics are not a lobby that controls anything, nor has any power worldwide, or anything at all.The great pharmaceuticals instead are companies that earn as much as the weapons or drug industry, and that it is demonstrated that they control politicians and regulatory bodies that should control them, we are going to be another very different issue.

Forget that the SS pays anything, with which the cure comes out, we can already be happy.I personally do not ask life.

By the way, according to my end the artificial pancreas is just around the corner ...

The optics are a lobby, are not only involved in the manufacture of glasses and slows, but in cameras, smartphones, satellites ...

The logic that as money gives nobody will cure it in practice does not apply: the cure also generates money (and much), in countries with public health what interests them is precisely to cure diabetes to save insulin, strips, strips,Bombs, treatments in hospitals ... By the way, slavery was a great business, except for enslaved people everyone earned large amounts of money with it, and it ended.

Pharmaceuticals will always have their business, because some diseases cure, but others appear.Right now there is already cure for hepatitis C, for example, even if it is a expensive treatment, but they already found it, and it was much more profitable for pharmaceuticals to keep it chronic.
What is really profitable is public investigation.

But what are they calling artificial pancreas?because I have seen that they will takeThis according to the parameters that you talk about.I see that operation so basic, that I do not understand because they have not taken it out.

By this I want to say that I do not see the artificial pancreas so, it is more connection of devices that we already have in the market, instead the patch ..... that would be fine, and I don't care than late 10 years, butget it !!

I suppose the first prototype is something very basic ... a connection of devices, as you say: something that makes the pump stop infusing insulin if you are in hiccups or correct a climb. It can be improved and will improve but do you think little? At least it is something we can almost touch. Then come about the encapsulated beta cells or whatever ... :-)

As Nick Jonas says in his song: "Just a little more, and I'll be fine" :-)

Nooo, I don't think it's little, what they had is to have already taken it!Hahahaha ..... I do not understand so many advances with mobile phones and then they are not able to communicate two devices that already exist, that is what fits me, that it cannot be so complicated to communicate them and that the pump is automatic.

The artificial pancreas will represent an extraordinary control tool that will revolutionize the treatment of diabetes, since it will allow people with type 1 diabetes to maintain their blood glucose levels within the normal range (70 mg/dl at 110 mg/dl)no need to inject insulin or monitor your blood glucose levels
The artificial pancreas is a device that consists of a closed circuit that does not require user intervention in the decision -making process and is responsible for maintaining well -controlled glycemia levels by sophisticated computerized algorithms that manage the necessary insulin through a pumpof insulin and prevents hypoglycemia through a glucagon reservoir, according to the results transmitted by the Integrated System of Continuous Blood Glucose Monitoring
The prototype of the artificial pancreas is already in the hands of the FDA
The Russel and Damian doctors have already given the artificial pancreas prototype to the federal agency, so small that it can be carried in a pocket or hooked to a belt. The device has two lowercase pieces that are inserted to the skin, one to continuously monitor glycemia levels and the other to supply insulin or glucagon according to what they indicate the blood glucose levels.
The FDA requires that until the artificial pancreas is not approved, doctors should keep their patients inside the hospital while using this device.
Dr. Charles Zimliki, who presides over the artificial pancreas of the FDA, testified last year to a committee of the United States Senate where he said “the potential benefits of the artificial pancreas are huge but if they are not designed properly, the use of the useFrom this device in outpatients could place these patients at significant risk. ”
Dr. Russell said that for December of this year the FDA of permission to use it in adults with type 1 diabetes that can leave the hospital and walk around accompanied by a nurse.Russell also expects children and young people to participate in a holiday camp of children and young people with diabetes that will take place during next year they can also use it.
What do the representatives of the JDRF artificial pancreas project think?
"I feel a lot of optimism but I stay cautiously," said Dr. Aaron Kowalski, vice president of the JDRFY treatment therapies continued to say "FDA has really changed and moves much faster .. My hope is that in oneor two years, we will see approvals of these devices that can properly control blood glucose levels, and that is only the tip of the iceberg. "

In the World Mobile Congress they have presented until devices measured by the constants and send them to your doctor, I mean that what interests them if they take it out, other things do not.

Let's see, the so -called artificial pancreas is shit and always will be, so stop asking to do things I can never do.

For two fundamental reasons, interstitial sensors measure with a 15-minute delay regarding blood sugar and the fastest insulin, it takes to start acting a minimum 15-30 minutes. So with that half hour-three-fourth rooms it is impossible to imitate the functioning of a normal pancreas that is capable of reacting to the second to each blood glucose variation. For more algorithms and nonsense that they put, they would never get a diabetic to be in the range of normal blood glucose.

In fact, in the prototype that was published last year and we posted on this website, it could be seen as the diabetic that carried it (in addition to looking like a Ciborg) it had been almost all day above 180.

To me the "artificial pancreas" that is nothing more than a dexcom + a bomb that is less silly than normal, also seems a huge mojon for the time we are.

As Sherpa says they measure the intersitative with what that entails. Its operation is really simple, summarizing a lot is: Dexcom measures x so the pump must inject and insulin.

They do not yet go to the market because the FDA says they are not safe enough.Normal...

There are already the occasional artificial pancreas project more normal than the one that has put @sherpa41 such as "pancreum" Link "style =" max-width: 300px;predictableTherefore (among other things) the encapsulated beta cells or intelligent insulin are more real options.

Pancreum today is Photoshop more than anything else, the latest news of him is two years ago, and people when they ask them how the project always say "these things take their time" and "we need more funds."It goes for long.

Hopefully the first thing about the encapsulated beta cells or the definitive cure is, but if not, I happy with that silly pancreas ... better what I have now !!!And little by little everything will improve. This is like planting a seed: not plants and dissent in five minutes saying "does not work, it is not shit."NO, you have time to time. And that, precisely that, we know how to do it better than anyone, so do not miss hope, is less and less :-)

Smart insulin patch against diabetes
Insulin injections as a diabetes treatment could become history thanks to scientists at the University of North Carolina who have developed the first "intelligent" insulin patch capable of administering insulin doses by monitoring blood glucose levels.

Diabetes is a glandular disorder of the pancreas that does not allow food to process due to lack of insulin. In type 1 diabetes, the body does not produce insulin. In type 2 diabetes, the most common type, the body does not produce or does not use insulin properly.Over time, excess blood glucose can cause serious diseases such as cardiac, renal, stroke and even the need to amputate a member.

Currently diabetes affects more than 285 million people in the world and is expected to reach 438 million in 2030. In Mexico, diabetes fluctuates between 6.5 and 10 million.

The patch of the size of a currency is covered with a hundred painless microagujas and equipped with microscopic compartments that contain glucose -sensitive enzymes, as well as insulin, which spreads if the sugar levels detected in the blood are too high.

In the tests the patch managed to successfully reduce the glycemia levels in laboratory mice affected by a variety of diabetes 1 or youth.

Adult stem cells: scientists get the pancreas of a diabetic to produce insulin

The patient, who already makes normal life in his home, implanted staminal cells extracted from his own bone marrow, while the media in Spain begin to recognize the effectiveness of these research pathways against those who use embryos.
The medical team did not have to surgically intervene the patient, since the implant was performed intravenously.According to the specialists who attended him, the 42 -year -old patient has had a favorable evolution and leads a completely normal life at home. The researchers, from the National University of Rosario, about 200 kilometers north of Buenos Aires, have also specified that this is the first time that this method to treat diabetes is used worldwide, and that the success of the treatment must befundamentally to having used stem cells extracted from the patient himself, which has avoided any type of rejection
