The Association for Diabetes de Tenerife (ADT), with the collaboration of the Canarian Health Service (SCS), Sinpromi (Cabildo de Tenerife) and several companies, will celebrate its annual summer colony from August 3 to 9, to which they will go37 minors with diabetes between 7 and 14 years.
The chosen place will be the camp of Esperanza again, managed by the island area of youth, unbeatable facilities that have comfortable cabins, broad areas of recreation and sports courts, among other things.
A broad and trained team of professionals, composed of health personnel assigned by the SCS, kitchen staff, leisure and free time monitors, ADT labor personnel and volunteers, will teach a "fun, instructive and varied" program of activities that areHe has prepared in several meetings prior to the beginning of the camp.
Thus, workshops have been planned to train them on the self -care of diabetes and health in general, and leisure and sports activities, with special incidence in hiking through this mountain area and adapted to these ages.Everything learned by minors will help them achieve new skills and greater autonomy in their day to day with their diabetes.
