The Municipality of La Carlota hosts on Tuesday the fifth stage of the first edition of the Triathlon Challenge Diabetes, a championship that has the support of the Ministry of Health of the Junta de Andalucía and organized by the team of athletes Team One and the AssociationSpanish for sport with diabetes.

As reported by the Board, in total there will be nine athletes that will perform the tests included in this sports modality.In this sense, the Ministry of Health supports this awareness campaign on the importance of physical activity in people with diabetes, for the control of the disease, since through physical activity diabetes is prevented and contributes to maintaina good quality of life.

Participants are on their fifth day of testing.In total there will be eight days to perform eight sprint triathlons that will be held in the eight Andalusian provinces between July 18 and 25.Andalusia is the first community to host this initiative, which will travel the national territory to promote physical activity and show the benefits of sport in people with diabetes.

The objective of this sports encounter is to show that being diagnosed with diabetes is not an impediment to sports activities if there is good control of the disease and proper physical preparation.This sporting event will also serve as a framework to develop a diabetological education days.

The nine athletes (eight men and a woman) will tour Andalusia for eight days performing different physical tests.Specifically, the sprint triathlon that have been organized include a swimming, cycling and a race test.

The first test took place in Punta Umbría (Huelva) on July 18;The next day, on the 19th, it was in La Rinconada (Sevilla);On July 20, the Sprint triathlon took place in Algeciras (Cádiz);In Mijas (Málaga) it was this Monday and on Tuesday they are in La Carlota, then it will be the turn of Úbeda (Jaén), El Ejido (Almería) and Huelma (Granada).
