The Valencian Association of Diabetes (AVD) has held the Generalitat responsible for the "daily injuries" that suffer "thousands of Valencians" for a year for using a material that, they affirm, puts their health at "serious risk".
"We use needles seven times a day that tear the skin, which, sometimes, do not inject all the insulin we need or, on the contrary, they double the dose," says the association in a statement, in which he adds thatThe life of those affected "depends on those needles and the amount of insulin they receive through them."
The president of the AVD, Arantxa Cervera, has denounced the "Calvary" that, he says, the Valencian insulin -dependent "suffer since twelve months ago the Ministry of Sanitat decided to buy and supply in the healthiest health centers."
"We have been meeting with managers and politicians for a year without obtaining solutions or response to our problem, which is vital," says Cervera, who adds that it is like "if a cancer patient who begins a cycle of chemotherapy, suddenly, is suddenlyThey interrupt or supply half or twice the dose scheduled by your doctor. "
After many actions, including a manifesto signed by associations of affected and health professionals, the AVD "points to the Generalitat, its president Alberto Fabra and all the members of the Consell as directly responsible for the detriment of the health of thousands of thousands ofValencians with diabetes. "
"Dispensioning this material violates the right to dignified care of diabetes, because they disregard the well -being of babies, children, adults and elders with diabetes, and because, once again, chronic patients pay health cuts with their lives.", Arantxa Cervera has concluded.
The Department of Health, consulted by EFE, has not yet offered its version in this regard.
