Diabetic hand

I read this morning what I was looking for it could be:

Link sl ... rders.html

I every morning .. rigid hands and hurt me a lot when closing them.Sometimes it happens to me alone by sleeping only 15 minutes after eating.
No one has not given him a name ... A little unimportant rheumatism says the header.

I started a year ago coinciding with more joint problems (with dorsalgias, etc).I continue with dorsalgias I do not know if it will also have to do with diabetes.

Do you have any this ailment?Do you improve with something or do you know any treatment, apart from stretching fingers?

Interestingly, all this coincides with the physiotherapy sessions where they gave me anesthesian currents in hands and back, it seems crazy but at least indicate the coincidence in the time of both things, will it be possible that these currents are contraindicated in diabetics?

Thank you so much

I had never heard or read.
pulling Google it is called Queirotropathy or diabetic hand syndrome
Syndrome consisting of a limitation of joint mobility of the hand associated with diabetes.
In this link you have an article in this regard:

In your case I do not know if you will suffer this syndrome.
You could ask that your header or endocrine doctor sent you to the rheumatical specialist to value it.Couldn't it be carpal tunnel?
If you had the diabetic hand syndrome, they should send you to the physical medicine and rehabilitation service.

I do not believe that the currents are contraindicated, except in cases of existing neuropathies .... If you have an occluded artery, currents can generate an increase in pressure at that point.

Tell us to see how you evolve.

Well I don't have the deformity that appears in the photos. If the pain is always morning and no day I book. With higher levels of blood glucose more pain.
The hands seem a bit seized all day.I do have heat -related neuropathy, cold sensitivity, ... but this is something else, more.
Thank you very much for the contribution.

P.S.I constantly stretch how I notice how the hands love each other as closing .. the worst would be closed to me, but for now I do not leave them.
Since suddenly it seemed a lot of these symptoms ... And of rheumatology it seems that it only has soothing, isn't it?

I'm still the same, does anyone know anything?Do I face any rheumatic disease? The hands do not appear anything, nothing in X -rays, nothing in rheumatic blood analysis.
A day has come when the finger was paralyzed and stretched.

It gives me that diabetes is activating the nerves of the body hands, back, producing shortening and contraction.

Ok give me the name and try it to see if it improves and at least know that it is the same.Have you given you diagnosis?
Neuropathy only gives me high glycems, that is to say cramps and such. This is ankylosing, that is, rigidity

With glycemia above 200 worsen but even with Normaglycemia (76) I have this morning.

Thank you very much for the help.

I have been grabbing sometimes three weeks, I have some times not and sometimes they are all the fingers and other one or two I cannot fold it.This had already passed a few years ago, but it went right away. The arms (under the shoulder) I have also been with pains when I move them. And my knees bother me, another hurt me and even one day I fuck all day.I started on day 1 that I went to the emergency room because I could not move. The first days I spend the fatal, now I'm better.
M I have done analysis and rheumats I don't have. The low vitamin D and M m prescribed.Hemo 7.7, Altiiiisima is.The header M has sent the rheumatologist (until August I will not go) would not be better for me to send me to the neurologist?
Carpian tunnel tests made several years ago and they told me that I had it damaged but slightly.Besides, my hands do not sleep, I grab me, I can't move my fingers. At night it is when more and in the morning I can move them little by little, but there have been days that one or two fingers have had them all day paralyzed.
I thought it would be muscular.Arthralgia, he told me the header. For a few days I think it is more neuralgia.
I've been reading this thread and I don't know when it is.Has anyone passed?
I am a little lost and although I am better I want to know what I have.Thank you.

My girl was also happening, after visiting several traumatologists and remutologists without success (some even mentioned the opition to operate her hands), I found in a book the answer (comprehensive care of the diabetic patient of Israel Lerman); It seems when glucose is high for quite a while the collagen precipitates and the inflammation of soft tissues occurs, as you comment was always worse in the morning when rising and after a while moving the hands, progressive relief occurred. In his case he even develops spring tendons (in almost every fingers of both hands).

Since the Dexcom has and glucose is controlled, it has been solved.

@Anaisabel asks for trauma appointment and look at you.Something similar happens, in my case I suppose something influenced that it was badly high when it happened, but it was for an injury in the poorly healing hand, which having high sugar influences as I said.

I woke up with my thumb into, after the hours he was moving and recovering, but it hurt, I was not able to wear a bra of what hurt me, after several months with anti -inflammatories I told my header whoI wanted to appoint with trauma, because they didn't know it was.
It was entering the trauma and they told me clearly, in my case it was a trigger finger (spring) according to me, the cause that explains @con_q_de_quimica is inflamed the bahina that covers the nerve and hurts and decreases mobility when pressing the nerve.
He told me that with the injury he had had, he was common, but that the somewhat higher figures of blood glucose could have triggered it.I pull rehabilitation and infiltrations, two in total, one every year, because I did not want to operate and did not recommend it if I could go throwing. The case that from a year and a half ago so far that I lower levels to how I was before it has not happened to me again.

I do not say that this is your case, it is what happens to me, but if it hurts and annoying you see a traumatologist who looks at you.

Yes, as I put in the previous message were several traumatologists (specifically 3), and a rheumatologist. In his case, none told him what was happening, they limited themselves to infiltrate and point (where appropriate an infiltration per month for 4 months).

For more signs, one of the traumatologists told us that he had no idea of the reason for inflammation and recommended going to a hand -specialized traumatologist.Another commented that "sometimes in medicine things happen and it is not known why" and the rheumatologist after testing him said that he did not know what was happening but that he could say that it was not because of any cause related to his specialty.

Personally I agree with @gemater, I think it is best to go to the doctor and see you well.
Regarding collagen, the only effective treatment is to control the level of glucose and the ailment refers spontaneously, but it could also be that you have some other injury. As much as we tell you our experiences, nothing replaces a good radiography/ analytics/ resonance.

A lot of encouragement!

M have made radiographs of the hands and they are fine, nothing is seen.I don't have them inflamed my hands if I don't look at them, I have the feeling as if they were, but they are as always.
As I said of the hands M had already happened, but larger time. But now M has passed at the same time in hands, arms and knees.
@Gemater, on one day I raise that I couldn't even look at glycemia.I was fatal, m scared. Thanks for telling your experience.
@Con_q_de_quimica, I do everything possible to have good control, but this quarter I don't know what happened, but I have done it wrong. There are things that do not control. The other week to see what the header tells me and I will also tell the endocrine to the next month.Thank you.

@Anaisabel That is why I say that you better go to a trauma, because a radiograph does not serve to see such things, you may need resonance or maybe you will explain and see it clear from the beginning. If you have been for this time to make an appointment with the specialist, you don't lose anything, to revenge.

I know it is almost impossible, but in the meantime it tries to be as calm as possible, you know that the more stress the glucose rises, think that if the radiographs go well there is nothing serious (even very annoying). It is not necessary that the inflammation be exaggerated, even if it is very slight if it presses a nerve, it bothers you well.
