Endocrine in Madrid

Inma_DA's profile photo   09/23/2011 8:38 a.m.

Good morning,

I am a diabetic for a lot of years and the truth, so far I have found few endocrine with which I have felt at ease. Some were somewhat old when proposing treatments, others a little know and very edges and others treated me as a young and I am 34 years and 18 of evolution.

As you can choose a specialist, I wanted to take the opportunity to look for a good time because the one I have now does not dislike but the center where it is catches me fatal communicated to arrive.I live in Mar de Cristal (Madrid) and for what I have seen in the specialties center that I have in front of it works one called Teresa Sierra Román that also happens in Ramón y Cajal.Does anyone know her?How is both in diabetes and in personal treatment?Any recommendation?

Thanks a lot.Going to San Blas from my new house is an excursion.

That name does not sound to me;
I understand that you prefer to go to the specialties center in front of your home ... rather than hit 1 hour travel to the hospital.

If you work at Ramon and Cajal very bad, it cannot be, another thing is the mood and how to focus on patients.

At this point it is almost better to try for young professionals who attend you well than for reputed specialists who barely have time.

Hello inma !!
For example, I would not recommend to those of Puerta de Hierro, although I imagine that you would have ruled out by Disania .... I have always heard that in terms of endocrinology, the best specialists in Madrid are those of La Paz ... there will beAs everywhere, good and bad endocrine ..... The luck is that you touch you a good one!:))

Hi Inma:
You have a new center in the Salamanca neighborhood, the only thing is that it is private, but the treatment is excellent !!!It is directed by Dr. Pilar Martín Vaquero, is called D-Medical and a group of professionals from La Paz hospital in Madrid works.
They take me to Puerta de Hierro, but since the visits are so distant from each other, I have chosen to visit me with Dr. Pilar Martín Vaquero and have my visits via the Internet, with teleconference, where I can dump all the data of my controlsAnd results obtained with my insulin bomb, she receives them on her computer, and we talk through videoconference, without the need to move every time I need it.

It is a good way to be well controlled and take diabetes on line !!I assure you,
It also has an interdisciplinary team, which on a single visit makes you control of glycosylated hemoglobin, body weight analysis, visit with the nurse and educator ... and you also have the possibility of visiting you with specialized podiatrists on a diabetic foot, ophthalmologists, and any other specialist that is required for your correct attention.
I recommend it to you.

They take me in peace and the truth that to endure my way of being already have the sky won hahahaha. The Chief of Diabetology Doctor Pallardo took me, now for retirement reasons will take Dr. Barquiel. The doctor who comments @adisamadrid, Dr. Martín Baquero also came to take me, apart from the fact that we resided in the same municipality and the first endocrine that I treat was Dr. Badenas (Diabetico), at that Red Cross center specialized in diabetes,The oldest will remember that it was located in C/ Infanta Mercedes, unfortunately they closed it.Of all of them the medical-patient treatment has been excellent, perhaps with Dr. Pallardo it was somewhat more distant and dry, but I am not precisely the joy of the garden.I also have to go to analytics or consultation every time I have 60-65 km, but I prefer to have to change to another place.

P.S.I do not know if this post is old or not, it is a jaleo that does not have a date when it started.

Impressive, very competent and comprehensive educating nurses. The great endocrine too.

I am quite specialized with my illness and I tell you that I am because I feel comfortable and well attended, if I would not carry the disease in my way and only go to the health center for recipes and material, without endrochrine or analysis or revision of nursing ornothing. It was what I planned to do, but it is like to go, the truth.

Hello, what are you?I am new here.

I am a boy who has 38a with diabetes and putting me insulin, the oldest will remember that many were treated in Infanta Mercedes until that is closed.

During that period and then outside there he was taking Dr. Jaime Antona until he retired three years ago.

Since then I have passed through two diabetologists who have not given me any confidence, if anyone knows about a good diabetologist that is private and not for social security, if someone can help me I would appreciate it, I am from Madrid.

Hi @jack I just got frozen!Jaime Antona was very close to my father and I remember organizing the camps of diabetic children in Madrid a thousand years ago.Of that fifth, or times, and I think it is still active I recommend you to Carlos Ferre, formerly I had the consultation in Ferraz but now I would not know how to tell you, I suppose that if you are looking for Google you will find it.All the best.

They take me at the Jiménez Díaz Foundation but after so many years of diabetes the truth that I take it, although it sounds bad, nobody.I go to the endocrine every three months for other problems but diabetes in principle, does not vary too much.

I also go to the Foundation, I have been going without going for almost a year, I don't see that it serves anything when you already know how to drive.
The educating nurses are very competent, I only have good words.

I will ask for an appointment to make some analyzes. The hemoglobin that Dexcom estimates the nail.

@Arotorias I think like you, with going once a year to general review I think it is enough when you have controlled the disease and after so many years, in my case I have to go every three months but for the thyroid so already in passing IThey look at everything.
