"Healthy life and diabetes" is the motto with which this year the World Diabetes Day (DMD) is celebrated, a date that recalls a pathology that, in Spain, affects more than 5 million people.To celebrate this important day for this group, the Federation of Spanish Diabetics (FEDE) has scheduled a complete program of activities to raise awareness of society about the importance of improving education and prevention in diabetes and, thus, increase qualityof life of the people who suffer from it.
Among these activities, Fede has made available to all people a space on the online platform Change.org so that everyone who wants to join the request made by Fede to the Minister of Health: the request for policy implementationTo promote a healthy life, for its importance to prevent type 2 diabetes and effectively control this pathology and its complications.
The initiative is being promoted through this online platform and the objective is to reach 6,000 signatures.
On the other hand, Fede, in collaboration with the Spanish Society of Community Pharmacy (SEFAC), will carry out the Findrisk test in about 100 pharmacies in the Community of Madrid whose objective is to detect possible diabetic people not diagnosed among the users of the pharmacy.
In addition, on November 11, Fede will participate in the “Diabeteson” day, the first meeting in Spain of tweeters and bloggers on diabetes held within the framework of World Diabetes Day.
During the day, Mercedes Maderuelo, Fede Manager, will offer the vision of the associations and how the online scope can help them in the management of their day to day.In addition, Fede will go to the 2014 presentation of the “Esdiabetes campaign, take it seriously”, an act also scheduled for the 11th and in which Fede has been participating since the launch of said campaign.
The motto of this edition focuses on reminding patients to live with diabetes throughout the day, and helping to encourage both doctors and doctors to get involved as soon as possible in the treatment of this pathology, because this will make a difference inThe evolution of diabetes and the possible appearance of complications.
