The Government of Castilla-La Mancha has convened the 2011 Regional Diabetes Awards, some awards that recognize the best works carried out during the past year in relation to this disease.
Awards that every year delivers the Sociosanitary Foundation of Castilla-La Mancha, dependent on the regional government, and that seek to accommodate, not only to health professionals, but also to researchers, to the associative fabric, to society in general-Including young people and children- and the patients themselves, the Board has reported in a press release.
Thus, in total there are nine modalities to which all those who want to present to this edition of the Diabetes Awards, and that cover the best clinical research work, the best basic research, the best poster or communication on clinical research can be chosenand the best poster or communication on basic research, as well as the best work on diabetes published in the media and the most outstanding educational dissemination work.
Also, within these modalities a special prize for the best work on diabetes (literary or artistic) held by children and young people from Castilla-La Mancha, as well as three tributes, has been convened.
The first one, to the person or institution that has collaborated most with the care of diabetes, a special recognition to that person who works outside Castilla-La Mancha and whose professional career highlights the work done in the treatment of diabetesIn Castilla-La Mancha and a last tribute to the person with diabetes with more than 50 years of evolution.
With regard to the endowment of the awards, those destined for clinical and basic research will amount to 2,000 euros, each of them, which are presented to the modalities of best poster or communication on clinical or basic research, the best workPublished in media or the educational dissemination, they will have 1,000 euros in each of the areas.
The rest of the calls will be the special prize for the best child and youth labor and the three tributes, which have no economic endowment and their winners will receive a gift.
These awards can be attended individually or as a public or private entity, provided that they have their scope, development and work in Castilla-La Mancha.The works presented must have been carried out or published during 2010, except in the categories of children's awards and tributes.
Originality
After finishing the reception of the works, the Foundation will designate a jury, in which members of the Scientific Committee and Diabetes Advisor will participate, in addition to several professionals specialized in various areas directly related to one of the categories in which the awards ofThis call.
In the case of the awards, the jury will especially assess the contribution of work to the treatment and care of diabetes in Castilla-La Mancha.Special attention will be paid to the works that stand out for their originality and quality, as well as their scientific value and impact on the treatment of this disease.
