fadex celebrates III School of mothers and fathers of children with diabetes
Cáceres celebrates on the 5th, the IIII School of Mothers and Fathers of Children with Diabetes de Extremadura, an activity that has been organized by the Federation of Diabetics Associations of Extremadura (Fadex).
As Fadex reported today, in 2009 more than 60 families from all over Extremadura went to this event, showing the need for fathers and mothers to train in diabetes and get guidance for the performance of their educational work.
The main objective is that they have knowledge, resources and skills for the best management of the disease and thus increase the psychological well -being and the quality of life of the whole family.
The assistance of people from all over the region is planned through the ten associations of Extremaduran diabetics (Don Benito-Villanueva, Zafra, Mérida, Badajoz, Cáceres, Villafranca de los Barros, Plasencia, Llerena, Los Santos de Maimona and Olivenza).
Among the activities of this school of mothers and fathers are the presentations on insulin and food and diabetes pumps and a meal will also be held in which families with diabetes can be known and shared experiences and in parallel activities are organized activities for children of 4 of 414 years old.
For the realization of the event, collaboration in the sponsorship of the Ministry of Health and Dependency has been necessary.
In the province of Badajoz the average annual incidence of type 1 diabetes in children under 30 years is 12,8 per 100,000 inhabitants, according to a study published in 2000, and referred to the cases that occurred between 1992 and 1996 of the population of the population ofReference, indicates the Fadex.
