Hello everyone:
I have found the following, in the publication the interactive doctor :

Leptin treatment in combination with insulin has shown less fluctuation of blood glucose, compared to the single insulin administration

Madrid (3-3-10) .- A fat hormone, leptin, could provide a treatment equivalent to insulin injections for type 1 diabetes patients but without their side effects on fat metabolism, according to aStudy of the Touchstone Diabetes Research Center in Dallas (United States) that is published in the magazine 'Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences' (PNAS).

The scientists, led by Roger Unger, treated an experimental diabetic model with leptin and achieved a better or equivalent disease control compared to insulin, in addition to reducing body fat, cholesterol and risk factors for coronary arterial disease.

The researchers discovered that the non -obese diabetic experimental models treated with leptin or insulin demonstrated similar levels of blood sugar and disease recovery. However, treaties only with leptin, or in combination with insulin, showed a lower fluctuation of blood glucose, body fat formation and cholesterol levels compared to treaties only with insulin.

Since its discovery in 1922, insulin injection has been the main treatment for diabetic patients. However, too much insulin
It could increase the risk of a person with high cholesterol and fat levels and, potentially, arterial disease.

The authors suggest that leptin could provide an alternative treatment for diabetes that could help overcome some of the negative side effects of insulin caused by the inherent complexity of the insulin dose regulation in all the organism's tissues.

What I understand is that leptin decreases weight and cholesterol ... which decreases the risk of heart attacks or similar and improves glycemic control when losing weight ... but from there to replace insulin with leptin: shock:

Well, it is not necessary to replace insulin, but if you can reduce the use of this combining it with leptin ...
It would not be bad!
