The signing of the Convention of the Hispanic Street between City Council and Diabetics Association.
Before the news disseminated by the City of Puerto Real in the sense that the Puerto Rican Association of Diabetics "has a new headquarters", the association wants to inform that this "new" local is a dependency of the former home of the pensioner of Hispanidad Street, property of the 60s or 70s, being the room offered of 20 square meters.
The Association has arranged from the building of Wide Street 42 during most of its life, which will take ten years next October, having renovated it on its walls and ceilings, lighting in its luminaires and appliances, lighting, etc. and, of course, with new furniture and according to all its units, which have been small auditorium, administration, nursing, library and warehouse, in addition to the central and rear patio.
In these years, Puerto Real painters have been donating to the works association of their collections having formed in the auditorium a true exhibition, the association also requested the provincial deputations of all Spain books of their publications services forming in this waya diverse and rich library, in addition to specific diabetes books; In this same library room a permanent exhibition on the history of diabetes is hanged.
Four years ago the municipal technicians reported the precariousness of the facilities in their passage (Casapuerta and Patio) to the facilities of the Puerto Rican Association of Diabetics, having requested together the FACUA to the City Council as many times meetings to deal with the matter, having been thesilence the answer.
Given this situation, in which the association would be the legal responsible in all aspects in case of any accident derived from the situation of the property, this decided to accept this property, however, it exposed verbal and in writing a series of circumstances and obligations for theentity .
In this sense, on February 24 of this year, the APD sent a letter to the City Council exposing a series of issues derived from this “moving”, issues about the location and conservation of the assets of the association in the face of the impossibility of locating it in that small unit,as well as the offer to collect economic means of supramunicipal administrations, banking entities, foundations and others ... the silence being also silence.
To all this we must add that when the room is on the first floor and being quite the partners and partners the elderly the stairs will be an architectural barrier.
