Hello.

Give a little more information about you may help to receive more concrete answers ... What province are you? What kind of diabetes do you have? What treatment do you have?

Ask for some ophthalmologist specializing in diabetes to me sounds a bit weird ... Diabetes can produce several complications related to view (diabetic retinopathy, greater risk of having glaucoma ... etc) of that all ophthalmologists are aware(or at least the majority).
As anecdote I can tell that for me it is quite normal to go to an ophthalmology consultation for something as simple as graduating the view (something that in principle has nothing to do with diabetes) and as soon as they see in history the word diabetes starts fromThe consultation already deviates to diabetes.
Do you ask for some reason in particular? Do you already have any complication and do you need surgery?

And on the other hand ... for what you ask that you are looking for Professional Medicine professionals, is it for any special reason? You can use public health and there will be so much difference ...

If Gioconda, TNT has explained it to you very well.

I TB as diabetics go to ophthalmology for control of the eye.To this specialist my endocrine was sent to me, I suppose that as most type 1 diabetics.

As I understand your doubts, do you seem to be type 2, am I wrong?

The specialist is in principle that your family doctor derives, although then you can change, that talking about social security specialists, if you are looking private, you already choose your directly clear.

Forgive.I also go to the ophthalmologo that my endocrine sent me, but the pupil does not dilate, because he does not want.He does not have the machine to take a photo of the background that would be the only way of seeing it (retina) if the pupil does not dilate. With what I am looking for some private private oltalmologry in Madrid.
The endocrine is why I want to know another opinion.
I am an insulin dependent for 13 years.

I do not agree with some comments from here a type 1 diabetic must go to the ophthalmologist every six months
