Hello
Metformin is usually used in polyquisical ovary syndrome, as therapy to combat insulinators because the production of glucose of the liver decreases and increases insulin sensitivity.

In type1 its use is not usually common, except in cases of mody or lada diabetes, or in certain cases of insulinators.

Hi Samira,

I imagine that you are interested in being able to exchange experiences directly with someone who combines the two therapies and I think I remember that in the other forum there was someone who was using it, you can try ....
I know several types 2 in metformin treatment but no type 1 and what I have read about metformin has already told you Owas that is, that type 1 is associated with insulin to counteract the effects of insulinators and derived problems (obesity, disorders of appetite, ..) and that like every drug that boasts is not exempt from collateral effects, in particular it is not necessary to overcome a certain dose and have the creatinine values under control.Statistics give very positive results.

Anyway, I hope you can find more information.

A hug and a kiss to the little one !!

Thank you very much, Kalua, the truth, the truth is that they have told me that it is going very well, for the diabétes theme, but of course, it has somewhat unpleasant side effects, apparently it can cause diarrhea and badly be abdominal type gases and I do not feel much fancyThe idea is part of monitoring creatinine.
I have not tried yet, because I am finishing another treatment for something else and I do not want to mix, but in a few days I will start and I will tell you how it goes.
It is true that I have a few kilos left :)), and that is why they have sent me to take it, but if the remedy is going to be worse than the disease, I am staying as I am !!!: D
Greetings to everyone

Samira, surely the collateral effects, especially the intestinal disorders I say that they will be in relation to the dose, seen that you already use insulin and metformin is only a help I do not think we go against who knows what rule if you start with theHalf of the recommended dose and only once a day and then adjust ... you also reduce insulin (basal and rapAbove all, you can check without risks how it behaves with insulin ...

I understand very well how you are right now, you remind me of my first day with Lantus+ Humalog (I wear it or I don't put it on, Ains ...: D)

A kiss !!

Samira:

I am a diabetic since 2004 with 3 By Pass.I was diagnosed 2 until 3 months ago that they decided that my pancreas did not work anymore and went to 1. My treatment includes insulating and novorapid plus 1/2 Metformin Ap immediately after lunch and dinner. The reason for metformin is to attenuate insulinor resistance. The unpleasant consequences are eliminated (at least in my case) when ingesting it as I said immediately after meals and with some compressed from Loperamide every 2 or 3 days.
I hope this comment serves you.

The only thing I can tell you is that they are giving me some terrible nausea and I have taken away all my appetite, as I know I have to do it and point. It is true that I have the lowest glucose levels but at the cost of being all day with a very bad body ... I want to consult with my endocrine if these symptoms are normal and if they will disappear one day, because I really can not...

Hello everyone, I am Type 1 and I carry with metformin over 10 years. They put it to me because the specialist says that it loses weight in addition to the fact that I have insulin resistance.
The truth is that as for the weight I do not notice much and what is usually noticed are stomach discomfort (feeling of being scrambled, some diarrhea, etc.);But they told me not to stop taking it but reduce something the dose that today is 1.5 pills daily.
With them I improved glycemic control and with them I continue since it seems that for that they are going well.
