The documentary ‘Dulce AGONIA’ presents the life stories of people suffering from type 2 diabetes, as well as the comments and recommendations of international specialists on the subject to combat this epidemic, said its director Amaranta Rodríguez.
The idea, he said, arose with Alejandro Calvillo, executive director of the film and general director of the consumer power, "talking about issues that affected Mexico we decided that diabetes was an important issue to address and immediately."
Interviewed by telephone in the space of Manuel Feregrino, reported that at the moment they make private presentations for the health and media sector, while getting space at the National Cineteca and in public squares.In two months it would possibly be available to the general public.
The filmmaker stressed that the production team is willing to be presented in schools so that the pupils have greater awareness of their eating habits, since it is there where type 2 diabetes arises.
On the other hand, he commented that during filming, they found many difficult cases, but one that marked them was that of a patient in Chiapas who lives in precarious conditions and both legs were amputated, "the idea is to give face and voice toAll diabetes figures. "
He also highlighted the difficulty of many people, who due to their economic conditions, cannot have access to health services, a situation that aggravates their illness.
