Hello, I am new, I am not a diabetic, but both my father and my mother are, and seen the family history, I want to familiarize myself especially with how to eat "in conditions" and and live with her.My parents have it more than assumed, but sometimes questions out there, what diets, what eating habits, health, they can help and tell you not to eat with sugar, and they remain so wide.So summarizing, and not to give the sheet, I am to learn how to help my parents and if it is necessary to monitor them with the "sugar" and other habits.

Eva, if your parents are type 2 and are only treated with pills, they will have to wear a stricter diet in carbohydrates. Not only sugar, but control the amounts of bread, pasta, rice .., but, if frequent analytics are made and they have controlled hemoglobin, it is not to become obsessed.
And you eat well, but enjoy a good dessert when you want and good meals among friends, which are part of the good of life.

It was time @regina because I remember that in my beginnings and with the following years it was a mystery ... Nothing of sugars, every dietetic ... neither fried nor na ....
But do you know what happens to me?At first when prohibiting everything I wanted to eat it and now I don't like the sweet ... ever .. but for example I prefer bitter chocolate ... and see that I am a pastry maker at home, I do to Too! And it does not give me to eat it hahahaha

Yes, vandorta, if you know you can do it, you relax
and the anxiety for food is removed.

It still seems "strange", as my father is from the old school, I did not eat hydrates directly, or sugar ... and now when I see some cookies for example, that without sugar they have more HC than those that have sugar because something somethingI still unleash ...
