Good night, my name is Bruno.I have a sister who moments diagnosed her diabetes.

In yesterday night he takes it to a guard with a picture of decomposture (vomiting with blood) and after some analysis they indicate that its sugar level was 540. They immediately begin to lower it until they reach normal levels. She is currently interned and they still do not inform me what kind of diabetes is, neither the cause nor how to follow.

Agustina has 22 years, studies in Buenos Aires but we are inside. We do not have a history of diabetes in the family.

What are the possible pictures?I still don't notice my parents but I would really like to be a little more prepared about it.

Thank you very much.

Good morning Bruno.First of all is to calm down. After this telling you that your sister is probably well attended to the hospital until the sugar is leveled within the "normality" parameters. When they see that the sugar is already maintained for a few stable days they will discharge you and derive you to an endocrine that will "educate" in the diabetis.
The sugar son of mine is what he has. That appears from Sopeton (without family history or anything) and no one can give you a reason or reason (there is still much to investigate in this disease).Regarding what kind of sugar you have not to tell you exactly but I deduce that because of your age it is most likely that you have type I that is the insulin -dependent.
I said a lot and to learn.Nothing to despair that although it is a disease that touches the noses a lot to those who suffer from it because it is still more light and better bearable than others (cancer for example).
Kisses and here we are for what you need.

Hi Bruno, welcome to the forum, the first thing to tell you that you are calm, that there are people in the forum that diagnosed them with more than 1000 glucose, and nothing happens, the important thing is to take care of themselves after the diagnosis.

For what you tell, it is time to wait for the doctor to say that he has patience, and when you know something, inform us, surely we can help you, ask what you need.

Hello, Bruno. It is clear that your sister has become part of the diabetic collective. He must assume not only her but the whole family. Now your way of life will change, and you will have to follow the usual guidelines of this disease (much food control, daily glucose measurements, inject insulin or oral medication, etc).
But with that daily sacrifice the disease can be controlled.
As when your parents, who say they do not know, to avoid being scared excessively, may be convenient to wait for her to discharge in the hospital and then herself on a weekend trip home, explain themWhat has happened.
A hug.

Agustina is still in the clinic and although it still does not have the final part, they already advanced diabetes. It remains to know if your medication will be oral or injectable.I will keep them in touch and surely she will appear on these sides to obtain greater info.

Thank you very much!

Well Baldini, in these cases we must face reality without fears, otherwise it would be worse.
As you have a diabetic at home and therefore glucometer, nothing easier than making measurements for several days, at different times. If you are in 112, it could be controlled with some diet, exercise, and of course reduce that high weight.
The metformin pill, if you took it in previous days, had no effect.
So to control and if it remains at high levels, to the doctor, without fear.

Good afternoon, here to update the info and I really hope it is useful;

In this day they will discharge him and his final report is somewhat confusing.

I remind you that Agustina entered a box of 540 blood sugar and 4 or 5 hours was already with normal levels. She was transferred to a diabetes specialist clinic and from that day until today, they find nothing that indicates that she had diabetes.

Many analysis were done and doctors are somewhat confused. She is a 22 -year -old girl 1.65 and a Meso of approx 50kg.In the family there are no records of the disease.

Doctors are studying the possibility of some other type of disorder because the reality is that the pancreas collaborate to obtain 540 but today works as a Swiss watch.

A couple of years ago I lost an aunt for pancreatic cancer, information that I offered to the medical team but after the analysis they tell me that their organs are correct and have no alteration.

We really don't know how to continue your treatment.Likewise, they give you all the necessary equipment to review the levels and medication necessary for doubts daily.

Any novelty I go for this forum to inform.

Thank you very much to everyone!
