Hello, I am new in the forum, and beginner could be said in this diabetes.I am 30 years old and almost three that I debuted (although in reality I never get it at all).Three years ago I had a basal 116, and just the next month I became pregnant. In the first curve di 180 and in the second per minute I fell round! Of course;Gestational diabetes, I was pricking all the pregnancy and made a very strict diet and sport because they told me that I would take away. When giving birth, they sent me to my house to eat cake, that this had already passed.I didn't trust, it seemed strange to me so I was doing controls and tests with the machine I still had, and I went to an endocrine that wanted to put metformin.(To make an average idea 1.65 and weighed 43 kg after giving birth). He also signed me and I ignored him.
The controls were a detachment, I all shot me, so I returned to the hospital and put me Lantus .. I started with 4 points a day and now two years later I am with 8. I have no antibodies and I have been a specialist in specialist to find my treatmentIdeal to try to maximize the 4 insulin punctures that made me in pregnancy because they would bring me more hypoglycemia.
I am very careful and strict.I have been proposed in Asturias that I put a dexcom to see how my body really works, if it is the right insulin, the dose, the time, how the sport affects me, because the truth clicks me many times a day.The problem I see .. the price, I don't want to deceive me and throw the money (because for me and my family it would be a great sacrifice). If you can give me your opinion I would appreciate it.They have also told me that it has surprised me, that the post measure must be at the time and a half and I did the two. Thanks in advance and greetings

Hi Pochola !!!
The truth is that controlling sugar is truly difficult, I have been diabetic for 23 years and I have gone through good, bad and regulatory periods, I have had 4.8 hemoglobins but I have also had them 11, you know what it is always said:2+2 are not always four, doing the same thing does not come out the same.
Now I have a 6.2 hemo and it is thanks to Dexcom and I am delighted.I have my doubts just like you, the price and discomfort of wearing the apparatus mainly.
I tell you my experience:
In my hospital they let me try that of Medtronic and go, the sensor is like a shell and the receiver just like a walkman of those before, we go that the presentation did not convince me much, but the result ... the best controls that there wereachieved in time since seeing the values continuously allows you to act accordingly, correcting doses and avoiding drops and ups.
I liked the device but that was so great .. and I commented with my nurse, she told me that there was another one who was smaller and put me in touch with the Novalab commercial and the difference in the receiver is abysmal.
He told me the prices and of course you stay with a face ... and mentally you start to account ... and you say and if I buy it and then it is not doing well?It is that it is a money ... well, the answer is that you buy it, and you have a month to prove him and if you are not happy they return all the money except the sensors you have spent.
They tell you that each sensor lasts a week but most of them last 2 people for the forum that has lasted more than a month each ... to me 3 weeks, to what does the thing change? It is no longer the € 374 per month (VAT included, I say it because they have mania to tell us prices without VAT, but if we are going to pay the same, tell me the total that is what interests us !!), it is still expensive but moreAssumable, my husband smokes a daily package and I have noticed that I also because that is what a smoker is spent per month.
Summarizing, since I use it I have good control and above all it gives me security because my problem was always the hypoglycemia and the subsequent rebound that climbed me to the parra to tell you a site.
If the question is what do you recommend? If, with capital letters (in cases like mine that you try and take care of yourself and look at you, I have come to get 14 daily controls and you can't control it, now I do only 2)
Well I hope this roll I have released, I have clarified something.

Gala! Thank you very much for answering and so fast! With your comment I will cheer up .. And if you are right they are no longer 374 per month .. so it could be more assumed. In my house they have told me to make me to the idea that we have bought an apartment in Malaga .. and then we rent one 15 days in summer ... and as if it were our (scheme they have a lot of spark) ... thanks again. And I hope to contribute all my knowledge to the forum.I give a lot of times to food and sport .. so I have truquis that I will tell .. to see if someone serves something, or simply to comment them, that some may be wrong or not will be adequate.Greetings and I loved your roll: D

Welcome to the forum, Pochola!.If you have money to assume the expense, buy it! ... also you don't have to take it a lifetime. In our case, my husband used it continuously 3 or 4 years, enough to get a lotWe also get many conclusions ... Now none of the 2 use it.The transmitter has a certain duration, they say that approximately 1 year at full performance, so for trying a year, the sensors were not lost in our hospital, now the subject is complicated. You can talk to your endocrine, let's see if some can give you ... courage and delighted to have you for the forum.

Thanks Velia, then have the money .. relatively (come on, but my parents will throw a cable and as much as my husband, the girl and I, we will have to make cuts from where possible. But what you say, at least store me and wear it for a while until we discover where my diabetes runs, which is without diagnose .. (although we believe that I am a 1 but slow process to take it before time .. to put it fromsome way .. do not let the pancreas exhaust until the day of debuting, or that is my conclusion).I will try to speak with my endocrine and educator of the hospital because as the Dexcom has been recommended by a private ... to see what they say.I discovered the forum looking for info about the dexcom and I think I already stay!

Ask your endocrine first (insist that they do not leave you at the 1st, I tell you, that mine was for heavy) because in some hospitals they are left to try a week like me although it is not usually the Dexcom, it is usuallyThe MEDRORONIC MILINK, which for whatever (I imagine is because they are advertising better leaving them more meters to try and get hooked, heh Je !!, in my hospital the bomb and meter that they give to pregnant women are those ofMedtronic).
Like you I do things my rare with sugar, let's not do them, you already understand me, this goes alone and if it is not for the meter I think I would not have realized for more that I would have looked at me, up and downThat you do not know how to tell you, one day exercising you lower you (normal) and another at the same time up in the same tape and with figures similar to the day before you start uploading without stopping.
Then what Velia has told you, when you get to know, if you see that you wear regular guidelines you do not need to continue
