Hello, I just registered in the forum, and although I am not very used to moving online, I think it has been very good to discover you ... I am 40 years old and I have been someone very sweet, hahaha, hahaha, insulin -dependent and on top with a special diabetes, I have always had very little controlled levels, either by unconsciousness or ignorance, either by emotional issue ... Anyway, a couple of months ago I started tracking in the Department of Endocrinology of the Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid ... I arrived quite uncontrolled, with non -detectable hypoglycemia very very dangerous ... they caused me the sugar climb lowering the insulin by lowering the insulinSo that my body would begin to give hiccup symptoms ... For 3 weeks I am with levels that do not lower me from 400 even reaching 560 ... To top it off, the new endocrine, apart from lowering the insulin they sent me evidence to see how I was at a general level, in the background they have detected a retinopathy with microaneurisms (evidently for me it has been a jug of cold water) ... Anyway, after throwing these weeks that there is no God to lower my levels, even doing sports, the endocrine have decided to enter the hospital to see what is happening (I am waiting for the call to enter these days) andThey have told me the option of putting an insulin bomb, the ACCU-Chek Spirit ... I am reluctant to do so being connected to a machine does not reassure me much more than anything for fears and ignorance ... Could you tell me or advise me? ... what care do you have to have?, If you really compensate to put the bomb? Dangers at sleeping in case it is disconnected or I know what can happen?, When going to the beachor pool or even sweat if you can take off the catheter? What conditions life? ... I know that in the end the solution will be the bomb more than anything for having no more complications, but I need someone to calm me ... Thanks, greetings to all

Welcome to the forum, Hades40 !!:)And now not low from 400-500?But how is it possible? ... Of course the pump yes, yes and yes ... there is no better treatment and is indicated, among other things, for patients suffering hypoglycemia ... About all your doubts there are a few threads inThe category "Insulin and New Technologies" pumps of the main menu, where you will surely find a response to everything that is disturbing you. However, for anything you want to influence, ask, that here we are a few "experts" in handling the speech in question. And of the same that impresses you anything more than the name (it does not surprise me that a priori tire p'atrás ,;) ... apart from that you could ask that they put a continuous glucose meter (you also have information in threads of thesame category of bombs) hospitals usually have them for ambulatory use.You can take it a season and so you see the buying in the different situations that vary your glucose levels. I said, a lot of encouragement and the bull !!!

Hello good morning, my name is Alfredo, I am 24 years old, I am from Valencia and I have been diabetic for 10 years, I am an insulin dependent (type 1 diabetes) and looking for something about the information of control over Lantus solostar I met this page.My current treatment is that I am regulating blood sugar levels for a few days, because it began to get hypoglycemia after meals and this has led me to lower Humalog Kwipen units, this summer used to wear 34 units of LantusSolo in food and 7 Humalog Kwipen units in breakfast, food and dinner.Currently for 4 days, I put 4 units of "Humalog", I'm going to try 3 at food and 3 at dinner. On the "lantus" I continue with the same, 34 units, and in the case that it goes down to 1 fast unit ... what I will do will be to download the "lantus" and get on how the fast should be, it is logical.
My device for measuring the sugar is called Contour Next, it is a machine that surely many from here you take it, MP3 type with color screen.
My life is quite healthy since I shower every day, I clean my teeth between 2 and 3 times a day, I go to the gym and study.I measure 1.80 cm and weight 70 kg.Currently trying to go up.
This is my story, I don't know if I will have rolled up a lot, if so, sorry hehe, greetings.

Welcome @alfredo !!! It has made me funny in what your life is quite healthy, you showers, you wash your teeth, hahahaha ... and it is true, being clean also has to do with that.:) There are seasons that insulin requirements are different ... what surprises me is that you always wear the same amount, that is, if you start eating with 200 you put 7 and if you start with 70 you put the same for the same rations?:-?. As you know, if the presents are fine, close to 100 and you also get up with figures around 100, the Lantus is well adjusted. If, on the contrary, when you get up and have them, you are low, you will have basal, and there you will have to do if you need more bolus for meals. But do not forget that the changes have to do with your specialist, that surely among the 2 you handle more information. Greetings.
