Type 2 diabetes glycemia reactive strips
Hello, how are you all.
My question is the following I am type 2 diabetic with oral diabetic treatment my doctor tells me that it cannot prescribe reactive strips.
Is this what tells me or simply wants to save pelas?
Thanks in advance.
Your doctor will not be able to prescribe strips because the computer system does not leave him.
By default, the computer system will block the dispensing of strips to type 2 with oral antidiabetics.
They are based on this:
If the doctor really wants to prescribe reactive strips with the purpose of evaluating or adjusting the treatment I am sure that he has possibilities, perhaps somewhat hidden, within the computer system.
These economic cuts. That is what they are, they are not endorsed by an improvement in patient care (more glycosylated, more eye, feet, kidneys etc, more educators ... etc).
The easy thing is to cut drug expenses, the difficult thing is to do it without worsening care for patients.
If you are insulin for type 2 if you must prescribe throw.Otherwise they do not enter you have to buy them.
In Amazon you have better price than in pharmacies. Also by e-bay.
Type 2 have no strips, but you have the pancreas in operation, which type 1, our pancreas we carry in a ball -shaped bag.
Greetings
Hello,
The reactive strips are necessary for all that person who, even working the pancreas, has hypoglycemia.Another thing is the criteria of the sanitary bureaucratic system.
The norms of our health system is that you do not prescribe strips to those who are not injected insulin. In my case, before starting insulin, I asked the doctor who needed them; She knew it, I had hypoglycemia day yes, no day.
As @"Owash" says, this is like this:

The easy thing is to cut drug expenses, the difficult thing is to do it without worsening care for patients. What did I do?My doctor knew how bad I was, my evolution and diagnosis were unconventional, hypoglycemia had been dusting for years. In 2014 or 2015 that I went to talk to the coordinator of the Health Center.I exposed the situation, and between both doctors they decided to put in the computer system a diagnosis not diabetes, but of "hypoglycemia."There the system allowed me to prescribe strips (they are worth a lot of money, which is not payable throughout the world, much less).
As Owash says, that was good timely care to a patient, because I did not resign myself and asked what I really needed; It was real attention beyond the limitations and economic cuts that do not look at the needs of beings at all to those who say well-time in the health system.Good day :-)
I pay them for my pocket. That type two works for the pancreas, it is very good, but we must also know if we have hyperglycemia, because although some do not need medications, without controls we do not know if we have it high or not before and after meals.I do not know that the comment that comparing with type 1I am a mileurist and living fairly fair and with family help sometimes to pay all the expenses to which the theme of the strips joins, which at least could subsidize them a bit.I have even had to buy another meter with cheaper strips instead of using the one they gave me, my endocrine asks me to make a daily profile every week, that's at least 6-8 strips per week, what less than at least at leastGive you that number or subsidize that number of strips since they ask you, right? In addition, that will make one better control of their glycemia and therefore, it could help them to have fewer treatment expenses in a few years.

When I asked the endocrine how the glycemia should do me, he told me to go to the pharmacy, that they would do them there.I bought a boat boat, 50 strips cost me € 40.

In the 3 months that they treated me as type 2 they did not give me anything: neither glucometer, nor strips, they did not even tell me that it was important to look at me ... Until I had to go to the emergency room and they diagnosed me the 1: there already everything:Sensor, strips, glucometer, needles ....
I live in Barcelona

It will be that, in the debut they put me metformin and slow and fast insulin, and they gave me the glucometer and strips in the hospital.
Now I do not take anything and I have normal analytics, but every 6 months that I am going to do analytics I ask you and they give me, they have them in a closet, they do not look or point anything on the computer and give me enough.
I guess it will depend on which doctor touches you, it seems that some pay things in your pocket.
My mother who sang a nonsense that I read .... Spain is different ... and so much, it seems that in each community the norms are mounted, I have no problems with the strips (3 a day), as the pussy we will know ifThe bearing insulin must "chute" more or less?.... By God, is it that they want to liquidate us?...

In Wallapop I bought strips and everything a little, because although I am DM1 and they give them to me, it seems that they pay them and they were told, after fighting a little I managed to have one of reservation always, because I went for another boat when I stayed when I stayedTen or twelve, now I only spend about four or six a day for doubts when I noticed something weird, because although I have a sensor, I have had so many experiences that I did not do 100%.
It is true that they have vetoed to prescribe many things to the DM2, but they also have tricks they can use.
I was badly diagnosed for several years, and now I know that those symptoms I had were hyperglycemia, with the strips and the sensor.
Being prescribed as type two I had several very severe hypos that then associates or tiredness ...
Hello Juan, at first to have diabetes the doctor if you can prescribe a single box of 100 strips, you have to do it with the permission of the corresponding nurse since it is a recipe that passes through the inspection, but only once if you canReceive then you have to find out in 15 days how your sugar goes before doing the three -month analysis, then with the medication and controlled sugar you can no longer send you more reactive strips, now if you have to have to put insulin because theMetformin as in my case did not work and try two more medications that are even worse and with more very ugly side effects and yet sugar does not fall, then they send you insulin, and there if you already have the right to everything, very reactive strips, many reactive strips,Well, sometimes you have to take sugar 5 times daily, needles and everything necessary. The insulin needles pass them with the card as one more medicine and the needles to click on the tense test, those needles give them to you in the infirmary, a box of 200.This has been in my case everything I have told you.
Well nothing, good luck and everything goes well
Of course I forget to tell you that what I have told you is here in Seville, reading the other comments I realize that in other autonomies it works differently, as in Catalonia that give the permanent glucometer that is so expensive to almost everythingThe world but here in Andalusia that glucometer does not give it or give it, that sure
My endocrine strips prescribed at the end.But I changed my province and now they prescribe them because I put on Lantus. But I smell that as soon as I leave the insulin and return to pills, they will no longer give them to me ... In that case if I have to buy them, it seems to me that I will value using the continuous meter and have a pack of strips at home because already put tospend money ... because I suppose the mody we will have the same treatment as the type 2 diabetics. My endocrine as I was a specialist in Mody and wanted to see the evolution at the beginning did not prescribe it by mistake that it was when I protested in this thread but when I had the nextHe quoted that it was a year I told him because he had a control of another device, cheaper he had bought, and prescribed my strips. Here is that the controls take them on paper now, it seems very the last century when you hook the meter to the computer and chiva everything
