Hi, I'm Mama of two diabetic children.

My first child (the medium of three) debuted in September 2009 with 10 years when I realized I had a 695 glycemia I thought it was a meter error took it to the hospital and we did not pass there or the first night because in the second doseInsulin was injected only so we were only during the day to form us in the disease.

My second daughter (the eldest) debuted in February of this year, the thing about her seems to be expected, had had some declines and that is why I controlled her from time to time, day that I debuted, she had 344 on an empty stomach is 13 years old and her and herHe is costing a little more than his brother.

Now we all take it better but I have a 4 -year -old daughter and the doctors do not assure me not to develop the disease so you look at the panorama we have at home ... but you have to take everything with joy.

Unfortunately there are worse things.

Greetings

Ufff, I already know several cases of diabetic brothers ... and my sister has all the ballots so that one day it is ... they did some genetic analyzes and I do not know what did not matter to me and they told her that it was possible that it was possiblewill develop diabetes.Lately he has very fair blood glucose and until recently he believed that it was good, but, if I don't get confused, it's a fact that something works badly ....

A question, for what you have, you were the one who did glycemia ... Are you a diabtica?Or someone in the family?I worry about transmitting mothers/fathers to children ...

No, in my family there is no type I diabetic but I am a nursing assistant and also with my son (the first one that debuted) had the fly behind the ear because at 5 years in a general revision they told me that it was diabetic,They repeated the analytics and told me that it had been a mistake but I left a little mosqueda. After all these years when I debuted the endocrine, he told me that this would be a peak of rise that they took at that time by chance.

Hello Patricia!I am 16 years old.
You could tell him to take a look at the forum, when you see so many people of so many ages and with so many different stories you end up feeling well, you will see that there are more people like her and that she can make a normal life, it is just getting used to it.
Greetings and a lot of encouragement.

For Patricia.
Hello, the world -recognized scientist Douglas Melton also has two children with type1 diabetes.
He is investigating diabetes motivated by his children.
I tell you these words like a breeze of hope that one day will bring the cure to your home.
There are many who are investigating and leaving laboratories aside, Lourdes and Fatima firmly believe that our children will see that dawn.
A hug.

Beta microencapsulated Beta cells go for a while, have had very hopeful results in animals demonstrating that nothing else implants them begin to produce insulin and survive the attack of the immune system. They have lasted about 6 months.

What happens that they are still in the preclinical phase, have not tried anything in humans or dare to say when they will begin. It will take many years to reach us if everything goes well.

On the other hand, Viacyte Macroencazulate beta cells is a less elegant but closer solution, since it is in phase 1 and 2 (they will be performed at the same time, advancing much everything). In the last planning that I have seen if everything goes perfect, they estimate to finish phase 3 in 2020, and there it can already be marketed once the bcompetent health authorities approve, which can be another couple of years.

Encapsulated beta cells, great hope in 5 years.
First of all I clarify that for me this would not really be a cure (our stupid immune system would continue to kill any beta cell that caught our body, except those that will be inside the implant of ...

Well, the fat man has touched you, it's lucky.
Looking at the good side the good scare you would take it with the first, then the pattern of the second already knew it, it would be more bearable.

In the end we have no other than to take it as you can. Many animos!

My daughter is 7 years old and was diagnosed 4 months ago, a few weeks after that I realized that I am pregnant and I am still thinking about whether this other baby will develop diabetes, the truth is that I do not know what to do or to think becauseAfter all, I think the only thing to do is wait to see what happens.

@Patricia The first welcome to the forum.
In my house we are also three sisters and two diabetics since childhood, without previous antecendants.I guess my mother was seen in your same situation, and you are to admire the moms.
I do not know if they currently do genetic studies, to us after my diagnosis they tested the three, according to us the one that was left alone would have diabetes in the future if it touched him or did not take care of him, since it was not something genetic and had morepossibilities, I suppose that reassures.
Also things have changed a lot, so do not discourage you do not think what has not happened yet, enjoy your children and calm that the greatest anger is better, it is a bad age and many already diagnosed with that age we also reveal ourselves, in addition, alsoBeing a girl it is more difficult to succeed on hormonal issues ... etc, but not impossible. It helped me a lot to talk to more people who had diabetes and be able to vent.

Here in Italy, in Milano a few days ago they performed the first European transplant of pancreas cells ... The operation consists of the pancreatic cell transplant1 ... and not having to use insulin .... the other good news, says the news, is that the patient does not run the risk of rejecting the transplant by the method used .... It would be necessary to wait for how it really reactsThe patient ... would be a good hope for those who are diabetics of type 1 ...:-<

In my case it is the little one who was diagnosed 10 months ago with 1 year old.I am afraid that the older one (5 years) develops it in the future and it happened to us everything when we were considering the third. At the moment I think I would encourage me although I have doubts, but my wife has thrown himself back.It gives you a terrible fear that could also have diabetes in the future.
