Lying with 180-200

Hello!

I have already commented on some other topic, but I would like you to give me your opinion or if you happen to you or know someone to happen:

I am Type I diabetic for almost 5 years (I have 20), I punctuate 22 units of Lantus in the morning and apidra in meals and when as carbohydrates to undone (vary between 2 and 8 units, it depends).

I stay well controlled, however I have to go to bed with 180, 200, 220 of glycemia because as I go to bed with less it gives me hypoglycemia at night. So there are times that I do not click at dinner nothing quickly and clear I get up to 250 although I get up well, with 80.

I don't like to lie so high, I would like to bed with 160 or so to be better controlled ...

Does this happen to someone else? Why can it be?

Greetings,

Hello! It seems clear that you have an excess of Lantus. How are you for the day?I would go down a unit or two, and you may then need to increase the rapids.
Ideally, you could go to bed with 140 and get up well.
Greetings: d

I agree with Regina ..., the same thing happened to me!
I put 11 from Lantus at night and in the morning I was less than 70 even reached 50, so I consulted it with the endo and told me to download 2 units the lantus and now I have 3 days and it seems that I will go better. He told me that I am very sensitive to insulin and that's why I had to prick few units.

It seems a lot to me.With bed just with 2 I would have more than enough and fulfill the typical male fantasy ...

For the day I am well controlled, it is only at night before bedtime since I get up well, with 80.

For example yesterday before I went to bed (at 11:30 p.m.I got up today (at 9:00) and I was 90, I already knew that I would be fine but it seems so exaggerated ... if as a half toast with 90 and without clicking at another time of the day I get to 300 andI do not go down for many hours that become insulin, but at night it is like me '' regulates '' ... I find it very exaggerated to have to eat that if I have 90. Or if I like aSwaper pizza I click 3 units and I get up well (with 90, 80), but if I have to put 3 units in food and one hour later another 2 and still another hour later I have levels between 140-180.
: ?::! ::?:
I have downloaded two units, but I remain the same.It seems that the Lantus makes me a peak at night or something, anyway when I finish the exams I will try to prick at night instead of having such, until I control me before bed.

I agree with the other messages seems to the problem of Lantus I had high values throughout the day and I thought it was because the honeymoon period had ended and I went up two units little by little until I reached 18 and it seems thatI control it, but now that I was two or three days great with the same units lifted me with 50, before noon I also had 50-60, and low values just before meals, now I had to go down againTwo other units but I don't even do well.
Each one is a world, I have only been with diabetes for a year and since I know in the forum I learn a lot more!

I think that when addressing the problem of diabetes and its implications we must do it from all possible aspects in order to guide and help those who, looking for answers to their ailments, resort to these forums. In other words, I estimate that we have to interrogate those who contribute their answers, as well as those who ask not only about insulin, but also about whether they have certainly used other medications and if they have worked. For example, in my very particular case I have been suffering from that terrible evil for several years, I have received treatment in more than four countries and currently resided in the United States. The matter is that I am looking to know the reasons why my glucose goes up and down when he wants, but above all that I can go to bed with 130 or 140 and the next day I wake up with 180, 190 or more, but never less than the levels recorded the night before.I am the male, I am 55 years old, I am in Latin race and consumption 4 mg.From Looryl in the morning and 4 at night, but also consumption 45 mg.Of acts after lunch and the truth that I do not feel well when I see those numbers in the morning.Worse, many times in the afternoon it is in 120, but then shoot at 160 and then it returns and goes down and then returns and goes up.What do you think?I thank you in advance for your opinions and suggestions.Thank you so much.

Welcome, literature !!!
Glycemia are also affected by antidiabetics, carbohydrates and their types, exercise, etc ... I don't know if when you talk about the afternoon you have a value, then it goes up and then goes down, it could refer to youThey are still making effects on food (quite likely if they are slow absorption), or if you did some type of exercise that could raise your blood glucose and then lower it ... However, if you usually lift yourself with high figures 180-190 Of course you are not very well controlled .... I personally know several type 2 that were with very bad control and have solved it with basal insulin and oral antidiabetics .... You could comment with the specialist to see what it seems.
Greetings

If it happened to me too.A couple of months ago or little more I had to go to glycemia in 200 to get up with 80 or 90. If at night before bed I had 80 I took a milk with cookies without clicking any insulin to get to me in 200 andI will lift me well. And what happened was that I had to put a little less than Lantus so that it wouldn't go down much at night

If it seems that you have too much lantus for what you have and in my humble opinion you could
Test going down two units of Lantus and two from Apidra.
This insulin particularly I don't know her.
Based on the properties of Apidra it seems that the maximum effect occurs between 15 and 90 MINS lasting between 3 to 5 hours, it seems quite similar to the humalog that I use.
You can also try not dinner too late.
Be good luck and tell how it has gone.

PS: The opposite happens to you in the afternoon are in the clouds the values.

According to all colleagues.Excess of Lantus. No Oknerte Apidra before dinner has its danger, you are already seeing it.You have but not excessive hyperglycemia when you are in 180-200.Have you consulted with your endocrine?Baja Lantus and look to see how you are the rest of the day, look after meals to also adjust Apidra.Insulin Lantus does not last 24h, in the last 4 hours it loses effectiveness.

I agree @calolu, even if it is old, it is good for rookies.I am going to have to bed at least 200 and yet to have to take a couple of cookies so as not to plumn overnight. In fact, the educator herself told me to do so, even that she didn't slow me at night so as not to have early morning hypos;According to I am very sensitive to insulin and perhaps having no pancreas and being already a "veteran" the long -term risks of having glucose are lower than the risk of having a severe hypo difficult to trace and also living alone.

The slow insulin dose is excessive if that happens.Although you always have to consult with the endocrine, what should be done in this case is to lower slow -insulin units little by little until you get a stable night; You must lie with good blood glucose figures, between 110-140 mg/dl, and you also have to get up well, between 80-110 mg/dl, for example, without you having to eat anything during the early morning. For example, I went to bed with 111, already with the rapid of the finished dinner, and I got up with 108. More linear, impossible.

I think how most, go down basal, and if necessary to have good posts in the case that they stay high, rise quickly. Thus, to have a maximum 140-150 post and stay with 100-110 until the end of food or at dawn.If the values go down both ... too basal

I already commented in another previous conversation my case.Last year in July they changed me to Tresiba
And keeping the novorapid at the meals, at first I put me 36, and ended this month putting 29 units because I had the same case as @"María2542006" used to 200, without getting quickly and woke up with hypoglycemia. The fact is that with Tresiba you need less insulin and that was what the endo told me, now I have entered into a pregnancy plan and threeiba apparently have not tried it in pregnant women and therefore it is not known how effects it has, sothat again we change insulin and this time to Toujeo 34 units at 14:00 in the afternoon (like threeiba). The two first weeks, a wonder !!The endo told me that this insulin was contrary to Tresiba, that is, the toujeo is more concentrated but that more insulin demand is needed, so I saw that I had some piquillo because I climbed up toujeo up to 37 units ... and now aday that I go to 120 and at 4 in the morning I woke up dusty and it is that I was hit by a downturn of 40 ... my face was from ... again not please ... the next day I lowered the basal36, and the next 3 days, but instead of giving me the early morning hypo, it gives me at 6 in the morning. An example of this has been tonight ... My dinner was a scrambled with asparagus, eggs and mushrooms, and two tostites with goat and salmon cheese, I put a fast unit because I saw it coming, before bedtime I wasAt 121 and took a glass of milk with two cookies.I've put the alarm at 6 in the morning and I was 120 and I said ... Take! But just in case, I take a glass of milk .... I wake up at 8:30 and my surprise ... 45
I lacked cry ... now I don't know what to heal ... I get more slower? The endo recommended to click it at noon .. Is this the problem? If you can help me ... or advise ...: |: (((
