Hi, I'm new, and I need to know disability

Hello everyone,

My name is Eduardo and today I decided to include myself in this forum.I find myself in a situation where I need to find answers, support and know what to do.

I tell you, I am 31 years old (I will soon fulfill 32) and since the 11 I suffer from type 1 diabetes. More than 20 years have passed since then.

After my header, my endocrine and many others advised me to request disability, I finally did it at the beginning of this year.On this month I went to the valuation center and today I got the result. To my surprise, it was nothing positive.

The truth is that I had hopes, due to the answers given to me who treat me.They did not hesitate to get disability. However, the result was a degree of total disability of 15%.Of them, only 1 point in the social section.Apparently, you have to be under a bridge to value you better.

Today, my diabetes has caused chronic glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy.I have even gone through the laser and in the last review I already had another venita in the eye.Although it is not close to the worrying area, they have not put me laser for the moment.

Currently, and for 20 years, I put insulin (slow and fast, about 4-5 daily punctures). In addition, I take the metformin, prevention and dolxium pill.I also use Elebloc drops in my eyes because my ocular tension is at the limit.

As for my social situation, I have worked for the last five years in hospitality.I do not think it is the most appropriate place for diabetic people due to problems with meals, descents and ups.But there is no other option.Since October last year, I am unemployed and, unfortunately, I have not yet found work.I charge a unemployment of about 700 euros, which is very little.I even have to live at my parents' house because my situation does not give for more.

They have valued me in 1% in the social aspect. It's right? On the other hand, I need to reach 33% to obtain disability.Do we have to cut our legs or get blind to get it?It seems very strong because we have a problem and we want to improve our situation.

I requested the certificate because I am a diploma in teaching and ended this year. With all these complications, they value me so little.Has anyone gone well when requesting disability? What should I do now?I have a month to turn to, but what they have seen is what there is.

Therefore, I found this forum and I hope you can advise me.Thank you all for reading and I hope I have not bored them on this day that has not been very positive for me.

I reiterate, thank you!

Hi Eduardo
I think I remember that social factors are only taken into account from 25% disability.

If you want the disability certificate, I recommend you resort to ... you don't need to do it within the month of term, at any time you can ask for the revision of the degree of minus value for aggravation.
The resources are valued by a different court ... and you really never know what you are going to find in court.
In your case I think you have enough elements to be able to resort and give you 33%, given the complications already established.

I imagine that you presented all the relevant medical reports: endocrine, ophthalmologist ... if you have had emergency visits, or any other medical specialist.

Normally, new reports are usually submitted specifying the evil (supposed) controlled that you have diabetes (non -controlled hypoglycemia, glycosylated above 7, cardiovascular risk ...);Although simply with glaucoma and retinopathy they should already give you the certificate.

Greetings and welcome.

Thank you for your help, but I don't understand anything, today I went to my head doctor to see the resolution and to see how to do it and the only thing that has told me is that I go to the Ministry of Education that is for what it is for whatThat I want to oppose because in the nursing with 15 % it is counted, we are impossible because for any opposition 33 % are needed.I have told him if I could make a new more complete report and he has told me that already having the view, and endocrine is the same, come on, I have ready, because of course I want to resort I will have to present something XDDD ... becausebut I don't know how this is doing.
I have the opinion this by hand and this is what they have considered, having all the reports:
1. sick.of the endocrine-metabolic system
Diabetes mellitus.Type I complicated
Metabolica
2. Without disability
Diabetic retinopathy
Metabolica
3. Without disability
Glaucoma
Idiopathic

Degree of limitations in activity 15%
Complementary social factors of 1 point.
Disability degree 15%

What I do?How do I do it?Thank you...

Holasss
I have seen your private, but I answer you here in case someone can contribute more things or can be useful.

First, it would be good to know where you are.

You have several options to resort:

1.- To do it only ... you simply have to "collect" medical reports of all the specialists and doctors who visit you ... even the dentist, who also has a lot to do with diabetes.Fill a form that will give you in the Ministry of Social Welfare of your autonomous community and to wait ...

2.- Let the social worker of your City Council, health center or hospital help you .... You will also need medical reports .... Here you will depend a lot of will and professionalism on you.

3.- That the social worker of an association helps you (diabetes, retinosis ... even the eleven could advise you) ... you will also need medical reports :)

Since this of laws can be something complex ... I advise you to choose option 2 or 3

There are some tables published in the BOE ( Link ... -03410.pdf ) in whichFrom the visual acuity of one and another, the degree of disability is determined. For example, even if the left eye does not see anything, while the right eye sees 0.9, almost 1, that is almost well, the disability is small. And so with the rest of the diseases.

With respect to glaucoma, as long as there is no alterations of visual acute or visual field, no disability is applied.

With respect to diabetes you have the requirements on page 3378 of the link that I post ... although it is not very clear and that is why each court does what it implies ...:-/

Hello and thank you very much for your answer.I am from Malaga, and I have nothing reports, but I have already presented to the valuation team on June 1 and for the moment I have no more except that the endocrine has approached me.If I have requested an appointment with the Social Assistant of the Health Center to see what he tells me, my header doctor has reiterated that he resorts although my question is with the same reports, although it is also supposed to be looked at by other specialists and not the same becausebut I didn't even have it because we value myself in a 15If I would get it to enter the quota of oppositions of the next year, so to see.

I cannot assure 100% but the review of the valuations never makes the same court, but go review: shock:

I'm from Valencia, so little help can I give you :?

The 15% does not matter, as if they had given you 23% ... it doesn't use one or the other.

In my opinion we must argue that you have poorly controlled diabetes (above 7%) figure that according to all world associations multiplies the risk of presenting complications (which on the other hand you already have it in mind: retinopathy), which has manifestedDespite maintaining the indicated medical guidelines for insulinization and self -control.
The presence of hypoglycemia is recurring despite the strict control in insulinization, glycemia self -control and food diet (this happens to the majority of type 1 ... but as most non -endocrine doctors do not have a pajolera idea of diabetes soundsquite shocking).

I think that is the line where the resource could go ... as long as your endo agrees to put that, of course.

I already tell you that glaucoma is not valued unless you have affected the visual field ... and retinopathy is valued within diabetes, not as a part disease; That is why we have to influence the issue of diabetes related complications.

You just have to argue medical motifs (which I think you have them) for that review ... the social motifare severely disabled).

Let's see what the social worker tells you ... he can give you some more indication.

As for the opposition, because you never know ... it depends on the opposition or left without cover or there is overbooking; It is clear that when entering through the "compete" disability quota against fewer people but you also have much fewer places to compete.
In any case you have to study the same so ...:-/

Hi, I'm new and I have some doubts, I expose my problem:
I am 25 years old and I have been unemployed since the 22, I am type 1 diabetic since the age of 10.
It turns out that since I have no job, my stress also increases because as a diabetic they do not allow meinsulin. My diabetes has produced many problems that I thought I would never have as for example: to faint and when I woke up I was blind, two hours later I looked up, I had about 15 years or so.I consider myself an educated and respectful person but when my sugar goes down and I walked on stress ... I make myroad and I do not expose the case by shame.Another case that I had was a day that I went to deliver curriculums with my partner and I got off sugar, we quickly got into a restaurant and we asked for something sweet that I took quickly but my aggressiveness emerged and I had to put me in the bathroom and II started bursting the walls of the bathroom to punches have ka fad of the ceiling.I try with all my strength to control this aggressiveness but it only happens to me with low sugar. When I recover my sanity, I am ashamed of everything and I stay as a memory tormenting me.Not only that, in 4 months fat from 80 kilos to 123 kilos due to stress, I have a hard time walking, I am 1'80, I also have cholesterol and in addition to everything I do not grant the disability.Another of my big problems is: if I have no job, nor do I charge any help, how do my medicine pay?blessed parents. We are raised to us big to help them later and realize that when they turn 30 or 40 they continue to help. What can I do to get the disability to get a job even if it is badly paid?

(A advice: try not to put stress + Hypoglycemia records = uncontrolled fury)

A cordial greets everyone and thanks for reading me :)

Well, I am going to say here (for ignorance regarding the subject) is to punch, alter and all that, the only thing you get is to aggravate hypoglycemia because both the physical exercise (boxing against doors) and the nervousness and stress makeThat you burn more blood glucose and therefore more low.

Aimed at Axull28.
I requested it 2 and a half years ago, and I got it (it was the 3rd time that I requested it);To do this, they told me here that since they take advantage of us who did the same and "exaggerate" a bit to get disability; To be honest I need to simulate any psychological problem but I said to the primary care doctor that a bad streak was going on and that I had problems like tachycardia and that I could not breathe. This was a key factor because he sent me to the psychologist with a report that says I have reactive anxiety. The psychologist below put a treatment with pills (some lazy antidepressant) and played me a role where I put the doses of the pills and the next visit date.
I have had diabetes for 33 years and in 1996 my parents already requested the disability for me but they denied it to me.Now with the complication of the radicle, psychological problems and two painful album hernias in Cervical I requested it and granted it.
Even so, the radicle did not include me as something separate in the assessment but, if perhaps, the assessment due to metabolic disease uploaded to me.
In summary, if you are having a bad look at it with the psychologist and if you see that such exaggerates a little as they recommended to me because with the valuation only of diabetes and their complications I think it is complicated that it comes out, especially because those of the PPThey have given order to value these things on these things and throw back, you know how bad things are with the dependency.
I hope I have helped you in something and forgive for the roll.
All the best.

Being care in the opposition, I have disabilities and is no longer as before. There are very few places for disqualides and most minuvalids are very prepared. In the ultimate internal promotion I made and see results, it was more difficult to approve with disability quota than without it.Control this issue a lot.

To Jconegar, I agree with you, and to be careful because the depression "expects only that"!Yoorque later we find ourselves as true disruptions and we no longer serve at all !!I appreciate that in 2 Opportunity I did not accept me (I live in Brussels and here the bearing of disability is 66%), now with my 54anos of type 1, I do not need because the ministry recognizes me (equal to others) and I have almost all the materialfree; The rest I live as you can with a pension from my husband (because I could never work declared to obtain rights ......
