The Department of Health of the Valencian Community has just exposed its self -analysis recommendations for diabetes patients.

This document serves for doctors to prescribe reactive strips .... It is what appears to the doctor on the computer when you want to prescribe the strips.

I literally transcribe the document, to see what you think :

Type 1 diabetes,
Basal Bolus treatment.Between 3 and 6 reactive strips per day.
Mixed insulin treatment.Between 1 and 3.
Insulin pump treatment.Between 3 and 6.

Type 2 diabetes
Oral antidiabetic treatamientocon (anyone, including DPP-4).No reactive strip.
Diet treatment.No reactive strip.
Basal Bolus treatment.Between 3 and 6 reactive strips per day.
Mixed insulin treatment.Between 1 and 3.
Insulin treatment+ oral antidiabetic.Between 3 and 6 reactive strips per day.

gestational diabetes and pregnant diabetic.Between 3 and 6 reactive strips per day.

Children's Diabetes
Until 6 years.Glycosylated target between 7.5 and 8.5.Between 4 and 8 reactive strips per day.
Between 7 and 12 years.Glycosylated target less than 8. between 4 and 8 reactive strips per day.
Between 8 and 19 years.Glycosylated target less than 7.5.Between 3 and 6 reactive strips per day.

They leave the option so that in case of diseases, stress: shock :, changes in treatment or life changes The doctor justifies (in writing and with his signature) why more reactive strips need to be given.

Always according to the Ministry's own data:
In 2008, if we divided the total number of reactive strips prescribed (58154000) by the total number of patients with diabetes (132144) .... it comes out that we play 1'2 reactive strips per day per patient.
A true waste.8)

Taking into account the null Attention to patient type 2 in primary care, if they take off the only existing way of controlling ... they are directly condemning him to bad control.

I would like to see one of the supposed experts, with diabetes and spend the day with 4 or 5 reactive strips.

Incredible about children's diabetes: shock :: shock: it is demential.

: Shock :: Shock :: Shock: if I don't read it, I don't think so.And these scoundrels who resort to inform themselves of what diabetic patients need or not? Here in our hospital they teach us from the beginning that capillary control is the best means of controlling diabetes ... Suppong that these politicians will have addressed doctors and specialists who will have advised them about our needs ... and Angela with3-6 controls a day: x

Anyway, without words ...

Today I listened to the radio in the morning that the games that were going to cut the most to lower the deficit were the pharmaceutical expense and the dependency law and I say why politicians (deputies and senior positions, ministers etc) do not beginThe salary?.. in the end .....: Shock:

completely agree.I think that in these statistics they have forgotten the most important part: the human. Each one must be free to measure when he wants, that we do not do it for pleasure or spending.
We will become mathematical experts, counting the HC, calculating the doses and now counting the strips we have used per day ... surreal.

Since I live in the Valencian Community, I am affected by those recommendations of the Ministry of Health.Always thinking about the health of citizens (such as not accepting the computer right in the classroom, because it will cause myopia: Mrgreen :) ...
So, Juan, who has type 1 diabetes and is 16 years old, where does he enter?, In the first section or in the third?(Children's diabetes between 8 and 19 years:-/).According to the first one, he only has the right to 1 to day.Don't fuck you !!!: Twisted :.
So far I have not had problems with his doctor, I hope to continue like this.
Anyway ... With this autonomous government we are accustomed to this type of cuts.Everything goes for the urban circuit, the America Cup, things infinitely more necessary ...

The pamphlet has perpetrated 16 "experts" ... 16 !!!... And there are 2 folios: shock:
Obviously, each of them will have charged their corresponding diets and displacements ... in addition to closing the consultation of each one on the meeting days.

The pediatric endocrinology expert considers that until the age of 18 you have to continue attending to pediatrics: shock: ... and that is why they have put it.

Nothing talk about blood acetone strips ...
Nor do they talk about the unusable monthly control that they do to type 2, where half of them do not have the night before ...
They do not speak that there are no diabetes consultations in primary care ... because they don't feel like it.
They are not interested in saying that glycosylated hemoglobins in primary care is 1.2: Twisted:

They lie when there are 132000 people with diabetes in the Valencian Community ...

Disgusting, boredom and scoundrels ... are the most appropriate words.
