Hello, good afternoon to all:

This is the first time I participate in this forum and wanted to introduce myself.

I am 32 years old and type 1 diabetes mellitus, for a year, and I have a 30 -year -old sister who is also for 16. Today I use Lantus solostar (16 und.) And novorapid flexpen (3 5 5),I make glycemic controls before all meals and once a week (minimum) controls before and after meals.I have been going to the endocrine every 6 months, and this week they will make my first eye background.

I have been reading you and I liked it a lot, I hope to help you, with my short experience, in doubt that they can arise, at the same time that all of you help us who we read.

Well, I hope to see you more here.

Very true dre@ms, if you dilate the pupil you are a good time seeing very blurry.

Although lately it is becoming fashionable to use a non -midiatric retinographer that does not usually dilate the pupil. Its reliability is somewhat lower.

Thank you very much Owash and dre@ms for your hot welcome.

Regarding the eye background test, do you know how many days or hours do I have to be without the slows so that they can do it properly?

Thanks for everything.

Hi Velia, thanks for the reception.
How is it that it catches your attention to measuring the posts only once a week?I debuted at the end of November last year, and that is what the endocrine told me, that I did the posts that way. But, I do not comfort myself with that, and I usually make myself more post, even if it is not in the same day, but I have a day that I do it every week. And besides, every time I go to the endocrine, the full week before the visit, I make the posts before and after all the meals and at 3:00 hrs.at dawn.
Do you like to get more more often?
And taking advantage of the fact that we talk about the issue. How do you endure pain in the fingers? Is there any remedy for pain to pass?

Many thanks for everything.

Prado, thanks for the information about the lenses and the eye background, since I did not know what to do.

Cloud, thanks for the welcome, I hope that the group of people you mention will help me in my doubts, and I hope to be able to correspond to you even if it is only telling my short experience with diabetes.

Alea, thank you too welcome, and yes "thanks" that my sister is diabetic for a long time, the diagnosis was faster and less distressing than when I happen to her, but the truth is that when you have it, it's allso different that it seems that it is not the same.

What reason is Mamen¡¡¡, when it touches us everything has another color, it took almost a month to assimilate that it was a woman of sweet blood, and that this comes from generation after generation.

I will be able to help you little, since at the moment I do not use insulin, but I will encourage you to all.

Let everything go very well in the ophthalmologist.

All the best,

Cloud

Hello mamen .... to measure yourself I suppose that each one depends on the hemoglobin you have, on the stability you have, the treatment you have ... but I am of the opinion that the moreIt measures a better control you get ... Angela is made about 8 daily determinations (the fingers, my poor people have them run), that in the best case, there are times that are some more ... is trueThat when it is in more stable periods, with more predictable results, we save the occasional control ...
Remedies so that it hurts less I do not know, but you can take care of a little rubbing with a brush of some and then applying alqún type of neutrogen type, aloe vera, so that the skin will be regenerated soon.
A hug.

I am also one of the measurements before meals, and post some days.Reason: As soon as I am below 90 or above 180 I notice it.

If I am above 180 after a meal, I take a mental note of what I have eaten (although at home it is pointed) and I see that I have been wrong or what has influenced me.Normally it has been the work, since I just usually have the working days (I have to take it more calmly: Mrgreen :).

For the fingers, as they have already told you, neutrogena every night, and every day a hand: little breakfast, annular food, heart dinner. The posts in those same fingers but on the other side.A good lancet and adjust the strength of the impulse well, I do not support it with force on the finger, but slightly, little by little it regulas how to do so it does not hurt. And ointment at night, every night ... and works.I tell you that I almost daily put my hands in salt water, and I have had to take care of them so that they do not suffer, because at first I had even granite reactions in the punctures.

Greetings.

Hello mamen,
A small trick to make the controls hurt is to prick the sides of the fingers, not right in the center ....
It also influences changing the lancet often ...
Almost all pricks have regulated the depth of the puncture ... I imagine that you will have already tried it to a minimum, but just in case.
It is easier for the blood droplet to come out with hot hands than with cold hands; So you can wash your hands with hot water, you dried well and then you control ... you also take the opportunity to prevent flu A :))

I have read that you are from Valencia, me too ... What endocrine are you going?

Good afternoon, I'm sorry I couldn't connect before, but I haven't had much time.

Cloud, as I told you, this Thursday I went to my first eye background, which they did not do to me, since the drops that put you to delay the pupils, they prescribed them, they told me how to wear them for the next appointment (04-02-2010), they put a few drops to see the tension, and that's it.:?

Velia, I suppose that the controls will be as you say, which will depend on each one, on stability, at the moment the insulin I use is doing well, at least it has not given me big problems. But I like to do more controls than those who told me, you stay calmer knowing how you are, really.

Nacho_71, the levels below 65-70 do I notice, but how do you notice those of more than 180?, I do not notice anything.

And for the theme of the fingers, I will listen to you, because I am not of many creams, and I only get neutrogena in winter, because my hands crack, and I lose my sensitivity in my fingers (it affects me a lot of the cold)that I have another disease (I do not satisfy myself with one :()).Such and as Owash says, I click on the sides, I have regulated the depth of the lancet ....., I know that I am quite complainant;)

Owash, my endocrine is Dr. Solá (from the Doctor Peset Hospital), and I have my next visit with her on the 19th of this month.

Thank you very much to everyone.

Good endocrine Eva Solá
One of the few specialists in Valencia bombs: ((I would have fingers from my hand to count them/the.

Regarding the background, you leave me: shock: normally they are the auxiliaries or the ophthalmologist who puts the drops and in 15 minutes, more or less they already take the photos ... it is the first time I hear that they prescribeThe drops.
I think I remember that the manuals cite as obligatory eye reviews from the fifth year of evolution (if there are no indications), it is very rare that there are already microvascular complications. It seems good to me that the reviews begin as soon as possible.

I notice the high values too, I am weird, I am thirsty, pasty mouth, urine more than 2 times in 1 hour ... It is not difficult to realize if you look at the symptoms.
