Hello, I introduce myself
My name is Julio and I live in Murcia, I have 2 years that I start with this diabetes and I have many questions, to see if you are gradually answering them.
1 hug for all and thanks in advance: D
Hello July !!Well, welcome, and ask everything you want.
Let's see if we all help you a little.
Thank you very much you know something about a new insulin for 24 hours
If July, you have the lantus that is a slow insulin that has been lasting 24 hours ... It also depends on the person, and Levemir, which is slow but does not last so much and there is almost always 2 doses every 12 hours.
With these insulins you also have to use insulin fast in meals, Humalog or Novorapid type ... which do you use?
Hi Julio, Welcome:
MARIA USA LEVEMIR 6 units before dinner, combined with Novo Rapid 3 units.
Use novo mix 30/70, 6 units at breakfast and 7 units at food.
I used to use insulating, but I had enough hypos.
Greetings
Hi Julio:
Welcome .... Your doctor has not considered changing to Lantus or Levemir or is it doing well with that treatment you carry?
The truth is that mixtures I never liked, you are more tied to schedules and with more danger of hypoglycemia.
Hi Julio, Welcome !!!!!!!!!
I do not have much experience in insulin, but Noe uses a levemir, it lasts 24 hours but, as I understand, lasts between 12 and 14.
Julio, before I went to Levemir, and now to the bomb, I was with those same, Mix25 to breakfast and dinner and mix50 to food, but my hem never went down 7 ... instead with levemr and with the bombMuch better and with better we have, although now it is not my best moment.
If you do well then continue with them, but as Prado tells you these other insulins give you more freedom of schedules and less risk of hypoglycemia, you can vary more the amounts of food ... in short accounts better quality of life.
Hi Julio, Welcome !!!!!
It has happened to many, I mean that we were doing well with the mixtures, but what price !!!!!No, tell him to change you, that the stiffness of schedules is already from the last century ... or not?
Hello Julio Welcome.: D
My son also uses the Lantus and the novorapid, he lasts 24 hours a day and as Juan Luis tells you it is a joy not to depend on schedules.
Peace
Hello Julio Welcome.
We are from Alicante, so we are close. My son is the one who is diabetic, now he is 3 years old and has insulin bomb. Before he tried many combinations, including Novomix 50 but he didn't go well either.
If you do not give it well, but if you see that you are very tied at schedules or your levels are not good, ask your doctor to see if it changes to a slow lantus type that most of the people who use it are veryhappy.
A hug
