Hello. My sister is 55 years old, and they just diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I learned by chance.I had a few weeks that I was getting weight without reason, very tired, and on November 1 my mother (diabetics) told him why you do not click your finger to see how you have the sugar. And Zasca, there was, about 400 and has started his ordeal. He is putting insulin and taking metformin, and although the first days they were disappointing because he did not go down as soon as he seems to be controlled.I am worried because in its June analytics I had it normal. And now this suddenly. For more Inri finds it that he has blurred vision for 6-7 days, and although in the emergency room they have reviewed and tried to reassure I see that the days go by and does not improve. How is it possible that it has become diabetics suddenly?I would appreciate from the heart that someone in the group will tell me if something similar has happened to him. Thanks in advance.

Hello @mtrf , thanks for sharing what you are living. It is totally understandable that you are worried, and more when everything has been so sudden for your sister and family. It is common that the diagnosis of type 2 diabetes may seem that "suddenly appears," but in reality it can be developing silently for years without clear symptoms.Blood sugar levels can start gradually until they are detected with an episode, such as the one you mention. The symptoms that may appear at the beginning, especially when glucose levels have been high for a while. It usually improves once blood sugar is stabilized, but it is a gradual process, so it is normal that there are no immediate improvements. & Nbsp;1rem; "> the most important thing is that your sister has begun treatment and that little by little her levels are going down.It is a good time for her (and you as a family) to report well on diabetes, changes in the lifestyle they can help and alert signs. This community is a good place to find support and practical advice of people who have gone through similar experiences.Or you simply want to vent, here we are to listen and help in what we can.You are advancing!

Thank you very much Fer for your words.I thought this would start Gradually, prediabetes. But in 4-5 months go from normal to such high levels and losing weight generates many doubts. So indeed such a group helps
