Hello, I'm new here.I am Angela, Laura's mother, a 9 -year -old girl who debuted last year with type 1 diabetes.
I have read there of the existence of screening programs to delay debuts in diabetes.Do you know any of that?
The information said that in Italy they have launched screening programs in the population to avoid debuts in type 1 diabetes as traumatic as mine.Do you know if that is in Spain?Do you think you can previously detect diabetes with a simple blood test, is it so simple?I wonder why I did not touch me to know before.
I would like the debuts in diabetes to be, to occur, less traumatic than ours.
Thank you

Hi Ángela, welcome.
I understand how hard the debut in type 1 diabetes can be. There are screening programs in some countries, such as Italy and the US, which detect blood antantics to identify the risk before the debut. In Spain it is not yet a generalized program, but there are studies underway.
Yes, a blood test can detect markers before symptoms appear, allowing monitoring and, in some cases, treatments to delay progression.Hopefully in the future this helps make the less traumatic debuts.Much encouragement to you and Laura!

Thank you Juanen, I will continue attentive to what can come in the coming years, although people who have diabetes no longer affect them
