According to the new Atlas of the Diabetes of the International Diabetes Federation (IDF),More than 250 million people in the world live with diabetes without being diagnosed!
This means that many of them will discover that they have diabetesWhen they suffer serious complicationssuch as cardiovascular problems, loss of vision, renal failure or nerve damage.
💬 IDF warns1 in 9 adults already lives with diabetes, and the most worrying thing is that this figure does not stop growing.It is estimated that by 2050 it could reach the853 million people.
🌍 In addition, 3 out of 4 people with diabetes live in countries with less resources, which further complicates diagnosis and treatment.
📣 The message is clear:It is urgent to promote prevention, early diagnosis and diabetes education.Governments, health professionals, communities and we as a society must act now.Diabetes is a silent pandemic ... but not invisible.
