Insulin and blackout

Good afternoon, following the blackout that we suffer yesterday in practically the whole country, a doubt arises, what happens to the unused insulin what we have in the refrigerator? Can it be that it can be spoiled for not being cold enough?

In my case the light did not return until two in the morning, so my insulin was almost 14 hours without refrigeration.

You will tell me your opinion.

Greetings.

Greetings.

I think you should comment with the staff of your health center to see what they advise you.

By the way, I just seen this: Link

Nothing, nothing happens.

It can be below 25 ° C without refrigeration.

In the worst case, the same amount of insulin would make you less effect.

I take roads without refrigerating days and I have not noticed anything.

Lada enero 2015.
Uso Toujeo y Novorapid.

We are not in summer and no matter how much you have opened the refrigerator, it is rare that it has exceeded the temperature to be above the limit, as Ruthbia commented.

I consulted it by mail with my endocrine.I share the response of the La Paz hospital:

"Good morning,

We consult it with the pharmacy service and for the time that was the blackout, and having been maintained inside the fridge, there are no problems with its conservation. They can continue to be used as until now, until their expiration date.

Regardless of this, of course, if you noticed that at some point that any of the feathers does not work well, dischanted it.

All the best"

Keep in mind that pump users carry an insulin reservoir, at body temperature, for up to 6 days.Hold 12 hours even if you had it in your pocket.
