Opinion (honest) on glucose sensors

Good morning

I must be lucky, because of the 6 or 7 years I have been using sensors, none were never taken off.And as for the failures, only one gave me an initial failure without giving me any reading.I got Abbott to replace it, sending the defective in a special envelope.

That is why I have not just understood so much negative comment about them, when I am personally one of those who think that we have changed our lives, for the better. In fact when I am one day without him, I get a kind of fear/anxiety.Of course, it is my personal experience. And cases there will be as many as diabetics.

Greetings.

Hi @Sortido, totally agree with you in the conclusion: the sensors have been a revolution for those who live with diabetes, they give us peace of mind and control that previously seemed impossible.🙌

In my case, although I recognize how useful they are, I have had more than one problem: sensors that did not work from the first moment, which were taken even using extra adhesives, and some other bleeding when inserting them.

Even so, the benefits far exceed the inconveniences and I do not imagine being without them.

In the end, as you say, each experience is a world. That is why it is as valuable to share real opinions as yours.💬 Thank you for telling it.

All the best!

They also seem an inventazo. They have failed me rarely, and I can't live without them either. They improve my control and make me a much more bearable disease.

9 years have been using them and they have given me all kinds of failures

For me the free 1 was much better than the current one.

It helps a lot to know each other better but with the number of users who already use them, they should improve the reliability of the data.

I started using them in 2014, free1 and they were fatal. They did not succeed even a hiccup, or by chance, I left them after 3 or 4 months.

Then a couple of years ago I tried them again and they seemed infinitely better and more precise. Both the 2, and the 3. In addition I found a place of the body where I did not bothered me when sleeping, in the arm it was torture.(The same part of the improvement was for that, because it no longer crushed them at night)

In 2 years that I have been, (about 50 sensors) I have only failed one, curiously the only one that I used all the time with Diabox.

All others perfect from the second day.And 6 or 7 months ago even the first day they are also going well.I trust the sensor than of the glucometers, which lately fail a lot.

I still recognize that now I am much more obsessed with the number and the trend. Before without sensors, I was only worried before eating and 2 hours later. Now I am always looking at him on the mobile or clock.

I also used them in 2014. I had that Drjarlos PIF allergy. That you time in which you will be experts in pretenology (q old I am !!! 😅).

I have not failed much.I have reclined Miy very few.The other day I call me fatal, deferries of 60 or more, and they told me that it was acceptable and an m .... m sent glucometer for which I have no strips😐.

@Sherpa41, I have always missed the obsession, I think I am, sometimes not, sometimes I deceive myself .... the test is when something fails me or does not go .... I explode .... and I don't like anything.

Greetings everyone.

I have only two years with the sensors and I agree that they have greatly improved the way to control myself. For me it has become a tic to spend the reader especially when I am walking, if I get up early or when I am quietly sitting at home, clearly is, of the mandatory before meals.

As for errors if I have had some especially of the expired sensor when you still have a few days or readings crazy with differences of 100 mg between the sensor and the capillary and false hypos. As for all things related to our disease it is a matter of knowing and knowing it.

With Abbot I have never had problems when replacing. At first I called and despite the kindness of the people who attend the calls they made very very very much but when I discovered the application form it takes a minute because I have targeted the serial number in a post it attached to the computer screen.Within a maximum period of seven working days I have it at home and the routine supply always comes to me when I still have three or four sensors. As this goes for communities I am from Andalusia - Córdoba.

Wow, it seems that you can only comment how well they are doing ... I do not think that anyone argues that since they appeared, we have improved life, but when it fails it must be said.

In a week I have failed 3 sensors, do I have to hide it?If you buy it on your own, the sensor costs you 60 eurazos, and that social security does not mean that it is free.So every time a sensor fails me, I will continue calling Abott, I will report the problem and, if they are good professionals, they will take note and correct the failures.

It is not uncommon, it is what comes out now when they fail.

Well honestly, sensors in my case have been a great advance. If I go with more than 200 at some point of the day and I did not correct it, it is completely my fault.

I have failed me like every neighbor's son, but the fact of simply knowing where your glucose moves in certain circumstances is an exponential advance.

I suppose that after they got a bacteria to produce human insulin, it is undoubtedly the most significant advance in the control of "this" that concerns us all of us.

I have been unable to use Diabox since October or November of last year ... I only have Abbot's, and this is the second that happens to me, and also in a row.The third not because it has agreed that I put the one who sent the first one ... we will see the one that puts me today that is the same lot as the previous two ...

Good to all

In May 2021 I began the sensors, and I had at first especially many problems, to fail six followed one day, or some without needle, many with the message of change sensor at several days or hours .......

Before the minimum was four or six sensors with failure every two months, now it is usually one every three or four months. It all started to stop putting them in the arms, after a test that they did to me, that the interstitial one, or to simplify it, which measures the flexible needle of the sensor.I have gone from the fact that it was normal to fail to be the strange thing to fail.

The sensor's glue theme is always a garbage, at least it is at least a joy to talk to people on the street that has the same problem and not self -control as being of "rare" skin. When I read people who never take off and do not need patches, kinesiology tape, spray adhesive ....... gives me a healthy envy, I spend an average of twenty euros a month on things to prevent them from taking off, being freshly shower, dry and with clean skin with alcohol, when putting the sensor I did not hit me ........

Good morning.

I am lucky to be one of those who do the sensor well, some failed some, but I believe that it was rather because of them, either to put them with fear or other reasons, the fact is that the more they use it better, it is also true that when some failed me Abbott replied without any problem.

Greetings

Hello good..

The truth is that it gives me some envy reading or listening (too
I have known to those who are doing well), when the sensors work well.

In my case as soon as the temperature passes from 30 degrees
They begin to give me many problems, from the beginning it is normal for them to mark
20-30 less than the capillary, but that can enter into the margins of
Tolerance of the devices. But when the temperature rises I go to 50-60.To the
I thought it was me who did not put them well, but over time I have
realized that the heat is repeated as soon as it comes.

I debuted in January 2023 and a few months ago I put on
My number 100 sensor, in winter they endure almost 14 days, now I have
Good luck comes to the week before seeing the message to replace sensor (which
now they have changed it).

The one I have placed right now has 24 hours and has been
that I get up this morning marking hiccups around 60, before sitting at
Eat I have made a capillary and I was in 106. I have long since had to
Take the hiccup alarms so that they are not all day by whistling.

Then when you get to the endocrine you have to discuss with him,
because he says that I cannot always be in hiccups, what I do is that every x days
plug the glucometer (Freestyle neo) to the computer so that it also loads the
Readings on the freeview page and thus be able to demonstrate that readings
They are very different.

This does not mean that no sensor is not something great that
It allows us to have an idea of how we are, but I think it still has a margin of improvement.

Greetings and I feel the sheet.😊

I am desperate with the new sensors. It is true that not one only reached me at 15 days, but hey, that is secondary, every "x" sensors claim one and compensated.

But what kills me is how they measure me.

I have the habit of in the morning before breakfast to make a capillary.Well, in plan: sensor 50, capillary 90, sensor 80, capillary 130, sensor 100, capillary 150 ...

Measure with huge differences below (which by the way, Abbot considers normal).I do not usually make myself capillaries but now that I marked 120 I just made one ... and 180 in the glucometer!

I have thought to see if it was the site and I have tried buttocks, thighsAnd now I have it in the belly and nothing, beastly differences, like 50%.Therefore, I think that as Glico gives me 5, 50% more are 7.5 !!!

I moved to 6, I don't even want to think about it.And I can't find a solution.Because in the latter, Diabox has not hooked and therefore I cannot calibrate it ...

Does anyone happen to someone or am I just me?
