I am 60 years old and I have been taking ADO medication for about one year (metformin 1,000 and forxiga 10) because 3 years ago I had a stent and the cardiologist believes it is appropriate to control weight, diet, lifestyle and my HbA1c.The normal type 2
And so I have been taking care of myself for 3 years and greatly improving my weight, cholesterol, etc.The HbA1c last year rose to 5.9, 5.8 and that is where they gave me the medication that I have indicated. This year, I have gone even further with exercise and diet, I weigh 75 kg at 183 cm and my HbA1c is between 5.1 and 5.5, I see it controlled, or so I thought... I always saw that in private.
Last year I went to the social security endocrinologist and he did an antibody test that changed things:
AC Anti GAD 11.12 (>10 is positive)
Peptide C 2.78 (0.81 to 3.85)
Apparently this positive, just barely, indicates type 1 diabetes, despite the fact that the peptide is at values that indicate that pancreatic function is preserved.
The fact is that the diagnosis has changed my current focus, of course, and the first talk was about "type 1 diabetes", which implies getting pricked, greater control, and everything that I have been reading here for days, looking for information.
Given the low value, the endocrinologist saw it reasonable to repeat the test to ensure. And in that wait I am
The curious thing is that I don't have these drops or highs that I read to those of you who have been in this for a long time, and I understand that it is important to adjust well, but without taking insulin, I take my sugar a couple of times a day and it ranges between 85-110 on an empty stomach, and the rest of the day I don't notice anything, I have sometimes taken a couple of hours after eating and it is at 125 but you can see that the HbA1c seems to be in ranges with the medication.correct.... they are not the values that I read to you even remotely!
I suppose you have read this rant 1000 times, sorry, but I still don't know how this is going.A paternal aunt was diabetic 1 all her life, and it is the only thing I have known about this disease in my 60 years. I am surprised that this antibody appears now? Or was it always there without affecting it excessively?
While the next contrast result arrives, I'm catching up on reading information about what's coming up...
Many questions, and I don't understand anything, honestly.Maybe I'm still getting started and it will be progressive progress?Or will it stay that way?
Well, I appreciate any opinion and point of view, and sorry for the badge.
We will continue to inform
