Insulin expiration

Once opened, fast or slow insulin.I would like to know if they lose their effectiveness if used beyond 30 days?

I understand that they must lose their effectiveness, since the package insert indicates that they should not be used after 4 weeks of starting them.

I don't think it's worth trying.We have enough uncertainties and external factors to control diabetes and we just need to add one more.For 4 euros that a box of insulin costs, I don't risk it, I throw it away and start another pen or vial.

Insulin lasts much longer, it has very high safety margins.Even with average temperatures.

What you never have to do is leave insulin in a car glove compartment in the summer.You throw that insulin away directly.

I think that the insulin in use can last two months.

I have been using it for more than 4 weeks and I have not noticed anything.In summer I carry it in a cold purse
