In DB1, aren't there restrictions?

Good, I am diagnosed type 1 diagnosed recently.Use insulin NPH, and fast insulin if I require it.My question is in terms of food, they told me that I could have lunch or dinner things out of place (eg, a pizza) if I used to apply fast insulin (in case you eat healthy, or eat only 1/4 carbohydrates,I do not require fast insulin). But my doubt is, if you can eat things with sugar directly. For example, if I apply fast insulin, can I eat a sweet cake?Maybe it is a very basic and obvious question for everyone, but since I am starting with this, I do not understand much, thanks.

It is not good for sugar to rise very fast.If you are going to take something with a lot of sugar better than for dessert. So that the climb is slower.

En 1922 descubrieron la insulina, en 1930 la insulina lenta. ¿Que c*** han hecho desde entonces?

Yes you can, but you have to know how to calculate the fast, and learn by seeing the sensor or measuring with the glucometer and pointing data.
With slow NPH you tend to hypoglycemia and you can eat some dessert without altering control. You learn little by little.
