With giving a tribute I do not mean a plate of pasta or rice, I mean eating one day a gofre, a chocolate palm or a good ice cream of 2 balls, that kind of things that diabetics are prohibited but that is impossibleDo not do even if it is very time in time.
I start: I usually pay tribute every 7-8 days, usually on the weekend either at some food, snack or dinner, always peco with something sweet (and yes, at that time the blood glucose goes up but I still have a5.6 HG so not so badly).
I pee a lot, as you say, 😄 A Greek yogurt, a piece of normal bread on a lid, pizza every 6 months ... is inevitable when no one is diabetic around you. I can't always be saying no to everything.
My brother inaugurates his house and makes us a "El Cocinillas" paella, so I am not going to ask for special food, I will eat a small dish and I will make a dessert for all of them to collaborate that I never try but I have always made many desserts for the familyAnd I'm still doing them although I can't eat them.
I always like what I like, but I do not consider sinning or paying tribute.
If I have to go buy, cook, then wash the dishes and on top to do something that I don't like, I already shot.
Not like chocolate palm trees or industrial pastries because it is not healthy for anyone, nor do they feel good.No ice cream because I don't like them. But something sweet after eating, that always (before as a vegetable and meat). If not even.
And for always dinner, some rice, pasta or snack.I do not feel good, nor do I feel like the vegetable at night (and the salad never) you will tell me that I can eat.
The truth is that until a month ago I did not know that it was bad for diabetics to eat rice, pasta or bread. And in these 27 years I have always had glys around 6.1.Although from the pandemic I have climbed to 7 (more depressed more chocolate)

So you practically do not deprive yourself of anything and get diabetes under control? What kind of diabetes do you have and what is your treatment, if I can know?

I have type 1 and I basically do what they told me in the hospital when I debuted 27 years ago. That he ate the same as anyone but that was healthy and that will adjust the insulin to that. The doctors who have treated me since then told me that I was doing well, although they only looked at the gly and little else.
A couple of months ago I bought some sensors and I saw that my control was not as good as I believed.I quickly went to the specialist (to 2) but they told me it was normal in a type 1.
I spent a few days without eating all those foods with a high glycemic index and the curve improved a lot, but after a few days I could no longer.
In my life with the only thing I have some pleasure is with food.I live alone and there is hardly anything interesting in my life and if many things screwed.

That happened to me at the beginning when I tried to overcome hypos with juices. As I did not get, it ends up sweeping everything.
In Hicar it is better to use drinks, such as Coca Cola, Fanta or Nestea you know exactly how much sugar you take and you quickly reach the desired value. No rebounds.

Hello. I also "almost" like everything. Some small piece of cake but only on weekends. This is at noon, at night if something "light" is to say meals that are not (I call them heavy) as potatoesbread pastes etc. In my case and if I put a "heavy" dinner, the level is maintained longer, maybe because I am at rest. For the day I do not care (within a clear margin) because if I have the glucose something high cogo myStretching rubbers and combined with my terrace and garage. This I also do when it rains (which is frequently given in Galicia) and if my 5-6 km does not rain. From "Andaina" nobody takes them away. I do this day and not at night.

Actually, diabetics are not prohibited (type I) we must simply know how to use insulin, yes, pastries, gofres, ice cream, etc., should be something punctual for anyone or not have diabetes.
It also depends on the slow one you use. My daughter with Lantus, tended to hypos and there were times that could eat ice cream ... and even rice with milk. Now with Toujeo it is different. The hypos traces them with much less, and makes low hydrates diet. But the weekend eat outside and gets faster for dessert ... with the FIASP controls them better.

Normally once in the week we went out to drink and I let go of my hair a bit: some food that does not start eating normally, some glass of wine and some cup of alcohol.Sweet or ice cream, because I have never been a lover of them. Not even before being diabetic.
If I am at home and my glucose below 80s, I take advantage and take a beer to overcome.;)

I do not give myself "tributes" of sweets, cakes or cakes because, just like @sandman, they don't attract me.What I do is correct some hypoglycemia with jam, which does less.

@Nila little talk about postpartum being diabetic ... I went through the same, especially while I gave my chest.A lot of strength and now tries not to overwhelm you for diabetes. In these hard moments it is better to have a good emotional range than glycemic.
@nigiri, @nila, I don't remember eating so much and as hungry as when I ran. It must be that to produce milk, hydrates and everything are needed. Do not have regrets, that the body needs it.

@Regina I had to stop breastfeeding because I was in hypoglycemia all day, I did not get a control or decent half, apart, I had postpartum depression and everything got together. Two months I gave him anything else. About eating a lot and bad, I have a theory. Breastfeeding asks you to eat a lot, stress and tiredness make you pull fast (usually less healthy) things and this type of food (sugars, ultraprocessed) I think they generate addiction !!And so you enter a cycle from which it is difficult to leave 😅

Well, a lot of encouragement to both of you, that you have a beautiful baby and you will enjoy it a lot when you grow a little and you are calmer. When they are so small it is a bit stressful. Hugs!

@Nila I just gave him 2 months and until very recently it happened to me and it will turn 1 year on Friday 😂 and for what I have seen in other mothers (not diabetic) it happens too.Apart, we have the handicap that we have been 9 months with super strict control and with (I at least) enough anxiety because the glycemia were perfect and after absolute control it is normal for a time of lack of control to come.A lot of strength !!Everything will begin to be normalized!Having a child is exhausting and the first year is very difficult and if you have the addition of diabetes, what do we want the most.A hug!!
@Regina Thank you very much!Another hug for you :)
