Hello, good afternoon...
Yesterday I changed my Lantus to Toujeo, because I have very unstable glycemia and without any explanation, always eating the same number of portions and everything ... They had a long time tried with the threeiba but I spent a month that sugar did not stabilize withInexplicable hyperglycemia all day and I had to return to Lantus.

Since yesterday I click Toujeo 25 units at 12 noon and I have been with hyperglycemia since yesterday ... My question is whether I have to wait a few days to what my body was used, if it is normal to be so high after having changed insulin, noHE.If you should make any change in the diet or something meanwhile.

Thank you so much

No, it is normal to reduce every 3 days to see how you are doing.
In the change to Toujeo I started with the same units that I had and cost me 1 regular month.

Lada enero 2015.

In your case, increase.
That is, you have to reduce if you are low or increase if you are high. They told me that 2 in 2 units every 3 days.

Ok ... I have been told 1 in 1 every 3 days.Although I may be wrong but 25 units seem excessive to me 😥
Last 24h toujeo? They changed me because Lantus doesn't last 24h and I have many ups and downs in glycemia ...

The amount of insulin needed is related to the weight of each person.Out of curiosity, do you have a little overweight?

@Estefaníabc32, Toujeo is more stable than lantus, but the fats and hydrates affect him more.
Go up the slow one in one and wait two days.
It is usually needed more toujeo than Lantus.
It will be regulated when the nights are quite flat and wake up well without nocturnal hypos.
How much did you put in Lantus?

I encourage, I am the same, they passed from Lantus to Toujeo, because I had many hypos especially nocturnal, some were quite chungas.I weight 74 kg and I am getting 24 of Toujeo, if I wear 26, I have left over.It is also true that I am a roller coaster because I also worn the fast, before Novorapid and now I go with Fiasp. It is assumed that the slow glucose endures us between hours, and the rapid is to amortize the meals, but I think that a bad fijustment, it makes everything difficult.

For example, it happens to me, after meals, 2 h I'm fine, but then without eating anything or having abused fat, sugar still goes up, and if I get slower, then I get up with horse hits.

Come on that I am up to the same, trying to apply logic, and get totally illogical results ... hehehe I have been more than 20 years of type1,

My mother bff.I also, from 8 and I have 33. And I am having enough complications now ...
Let's see if I achieve stability with the toujeo because it is true that with Lantus inexplicable things happened to me ... I also use Novorapid and I weight meals, everything perfectly. So I don't understand these unevenness 😵‍💫

@Estefaníabc32, look at the nights, if you go to bed at less than 140 and wake up high, go up toujeo.Surely, with some more units you fix it.
And if you tend to hip at some point, do not take as much sugar as with your, with toujeo the hypos trace with half glucose. If you take more, go up a lot.
Studial it a little, which compensates for hypos and you can be at 100 very stable a long time.

Thanks 🙏
Yesterday after dinner I was in 260 and I got 4UD quickly ... Before bed I was in 200. I dawned with 308 fasting.I don't understand anything 😔

Today I will upload toujeo units to see what happens ...

@Estefaniabc32: I am like you in weight and at most I have reached 14 units of Toujeo. Now I'm with 10. But hey, each person is a world ...
Now comes the "theory": the amount of slow insulin necessary is usually between 60 and 50% of the total units (slow +fast) that you wear. The rapid represents 40% or 50% of the total daily insulin you need.In my case, the slow one represents 60% and the rapid 40%.
This proportion is important because as you have to go up the toujeo until you get up below 130, you will have to adjust the rapid to avoid possible hypos.

I am putting a rapid insulin barbarity too 😥 I do not understand why I have these hyperglycemia, and I am eating the same rations always ...

@Estefaniabc32: Check everything you are doing: avoid clicking in the same area (you may have areas with lipodystrophy), use a short needle (4 or 5mm), keep some food schedule routines for a few days, control the grease intakeAnd proteins, avoid stress, ... and if you continue through the clouds, return to the doctor.

Thank you so much!
It is since I started with Toujeo, with Lantus I was uncontrolled but not with these hyperglycemia 😵‍💫
And the rotation of the punctures I do very well ... the nurse told me that it did not seem to have lipodystrophy.Who should look at me exactly?
On Wednesday they put the Porfin sensor ... Let's see if it improves a bit.

@Estefaniabc32, with these flat insulins, low meals in hydrates, many vegetables and protein work better., With very little fat. With that type of food, you will need much less fast.
Go up toujeo, I think with two or three more units, you fix it.But go up one in one
, better.
Give it some time.
Then you can go to bed with 120 and wake up with 80, without fear of hypos.
If you see that you do not fix it in a month, return to Lantus, but give Toujeo a chance because you will have much less hypos than with Lantus.

In my opinion it is that there is something that causes you resistance to insulin, to reduce that resistance there is what has always been said in this forum, exercise and especially strength and if not medication (metformin) but this consults with your doctor,For example, I had a lot
