This question has always been around me and I have never done it;Well my educator does, but the only thing that has told me that the bad thing is to move from one end to another in a short time for days, weeks, months and years .... that by doing them nothing will happen to me, because becauseI am in rank more than 90% and there are very few patients who get this.
What does it eventually affect our disease: making peaks at meals (although we correct) or having high values maintained?
I have been very cold for 3 days and I imagine that it is one of the causes why I can't normalize my glycemia ... when this happens to you, you touch your ratios or endure the guy while it lasts (with ups and downs)?
Thank you very much in advance, I learn more from this forum than with my educator ...

Well, more and more importance is given to glycemics variability, it means that it is not only glycosilated but also that there is no high variability, the more flat the curve the better.Obviously this is complicated many times but you have to try.One of the forms is carrying a low food in hydrates, I am the only way that I see to approach it because the amount of HC q told us, it is impossible not to have continuous rises and descents, no matter how much insulin you put on, it isVery complicated. In addition, if what alters us are hydrates, it is logical to think of limiting them.I take the hydrates of the vegetables and fruits with little glycemic index, some legumes, but I do not usually eat or paste or rice or bread or potato, which they upload a lot and then and then it costs a lot that it goes down.In addition, there is not so much margin of error in the doses of insulin PQ are small doses and there is not so much risk of hypos or hyper. As for the infections, I correct myself with fast, it is true that sometimes I have such atrocious resistance according to which infection, that it seems that insulin is water but I go two in two hours correcting the hyper, that is what is aunavoidable ... The basal does not change it.

Thank you @meginer ... I also base my food in vegetables and legumes ... Integral rice (de refrigerator) to the best once a month and at night that is at least it goes up, spaghettis more of the same, integral...and every 2 weeks ... rations at most at noon 4 (telling the vegetable) and at night sometimes disregard it and as more protein ... but I have been crazy with the glycemia. An example, always lunch the same and the same amount, yesterday with 2.5ud I went down almost at 3 hours and today with 2ud.I am maintained in 183 (I have already rectified 2 times, the first with 1ud and the second with 0.5, my insulin looks like water) ... I understand that it is due to the cold and I have to endure what happens ...

I as less HC, in total.40-50 g per day.Pasta and rice or integral even, I get the same ... The theme of infections is so, look to see if the hormonal theme also influences you, before the rule there is usually more insulin resistance.

@meginer, Hormonal can't be, I went 3 days ago .... hahaha oysters well you eat little! And they tell me that as a little bird! The fact is that my educator tells me to eat everything, that diabetes has to adapt to me, not me, but that is impossible, I have also suppressed the potato and bread of my diet and the pasta only for theNight (it is at least affects me) and very much as long as ... I have gone from 74 to 57 kilos and I have my concerned about my strict control ... but carrying it I am fatal imagine if I did not take it that way.

@Cassie: You have lost many kilos, maybe you are being too strict with your diet.I have never made a low diet in HC, I am with a thin constitution and I have been weighing practically the same for many years. If I have peaks I correct myself and I don't go around.I do not want my diabetes to become a "unvoyed."

Well, do not believe, it's a matter of habit, there really is no reason to eat so many hydrates.I spent years ago from 7.5 to 5.5. And I don't see another way to achieve it, and my social security endocrine thinks the same thing, what happens is that the general population is not usually willing to do so. I have been with DM type 1 for 40 years and it is obviously not like the one who has been 5 years.

@Ricki21 If I have not been with her for a year and it seems to me a martyrdom, she occupies 90% of my head, because even when I am doing other things my thoughts go to her again and again. I suppose that when I get stabilized again I will continue more relieved ...Second I didn't have the 3 months of treatment at 8 and Pico, this August came out in 6.1, but I'm afraid that I can get worse because it is costing me horrors to be in rank without being pending.

Cassie said: @meginer 5.5 That is phenomenal, as a non -diabetic person !!I always go down the iron, I am prone to anemia and if I do not nourish my
But that is a myth. Not for taking more hydrates you have more energy. Anyway I don't want to convince anyone, this is a personal option that is doing well.Obviously, there is nothing perfect and occasionally you say but what happened? Why don't it go down?Or there is a celebration in a weekend and it happened to me and the thing gets out of control.

@Cassie What your educator tells you is what they tell us all, normal diet and put how much insulin you need. Conclusion 9 kg of more that has cost me horrors to eliminate; In addition to a lot of variability due to the peaks of hydrates and fats. I went to an endocrine and I prescribe a protein diet, entered controlled ketosis and burned everything that was left over. Now I stay with a low diet in hydrates and zero fats because they upload me much more than hydrates.
With time you will normalize diabetes and stop thinking about it, it is normal that you are now worried.
@Cassie, you can't be so perfectionist, because you don't live. You have to have a middle ground and relax if you get glycosylated less than 6.5.Tranquility also helps control.

I have also been cold, Sunday with 39 fever and runaway sugar.I are panicked by hypoglycemia so I have been increasing the guidelines in a very conservative way.I have gone from 11 to 14 slowly and the fast to double, because it entered the meals very high so I put on to correct and to manage what I ate. I have been 4 days with 66% in the range and average 150-160. But look, I have taken it without overwhelms because, thanks to this forum, I knew it is a point situation because of an infection.Today I am seeing the light, I am already in more reasonable values. I have the feeling that we always go behind, blood glucose varies by H or B and we corrected to focus values and with little aim. Now to see how the night spent and see what decision I made tomorrow with the dose of slow. My great statistics have spoiled me, but diabetes is so, it is not always in rank and with curves flattened no matter how much you work.

Yes, I suppose it is the first time I am bad and this happens to me .... everything catches me with new ones .... today I feel much better, but I see that my insulin needs have not varied these days .... I think it has gathered with my honeymoon final because it is costing me to adjust the doses again. Thank you for your understanding and advice ... the truth that in my day to day I am missing with someone who can understand and I can advise me, my family and friends support me, encourage me, but they are not in our skin ....

@Cassie do not overwhelm, you are doing very well and you will live with diabetes naturally. Regarding weight loss, you are the one who has to know whether to lose so many kg has been good for you or not.Having more kg is not always indicative of having poor health and each person is a world, measuring the entire population by the body mass index is something that is totally obsolete so that if you with your current weight you are fine and withEnergy and good analytics, is what matters, not what others think or what the scale says. On the other hand, if you are with a virus, it is better during those days to have a flat curve in 180 than to be with peaks and descents, that for discounted. Regarding the low diet in HC, I personally seem to me the best way to control diabetes, but I think so much hydrate is not necessary for anyone. When I talk about hydrates, I mainly mean refined white flours. For example, potato and legume yes, the potato with more moderation yes and then, of course if I go for eating or dinner or is a special event, as of everything and correct. What are either are ultraprocessed foods, none. But come on, neither hunger, nor have I a strict diet and as rich, varied and healthy. All the best!
Hello, I also thought many years ago, that the hydrates were going to harm me, but I was wrong, I now take 90 grams in each meal 2.5 at most fast and with a 2500kc diet, yesterday cene 4 glasses of rice,Two chops and 300gr of pear 1.5 fast and kept in 90 asta in the morning.

My diet is based on low foods in HC.Dr. Bernstein's book was my particular Bible to understand how our body works.I also tell you that I am not a Taliban. If you have to try rich things, then I try them and so happy .... Well, with the consequent correction clear. But at 95% under HC.Personally it is the only thing that makes me have my controlled glycos - 5.6 the last one -, next to the 14 basal and 3+3+2.5 fast at each meal, of course.
One thing wanted to share it with you, because it is working for me: and this goes with three foods that I had banished from my diet, for its very high HC index: the potato omelet, the pasta to the dente and a little rice:If after cooking them I leave them 12 hours, at least, in the fridge and then I am taking rations and the limestone, I have proven that glycemia practically remains unchanged, well, with very small insignificant increases.
The starches when cooling, in large part, instead of transforming in HC do so in fiber (well, explanation to understand us. The scientist is somewhat more complex).
It works for me and I am happy with my glycemic values and with my diet, but I understand that there are people who do not convince them and follow what most specialists indicate: eat everything and supply you insulin to the demand that proceeds. For tastes, colors.
The only contribution that I take is a multivitamin supplement pill per day, because I am aware that my fruits consumption is not the one that was before this thorn appears in our lives.

Hi Cassie, I think you should change your insulin dosage I speak of slow insulin.Try to click a little more even if you get out of breakfast. It can be fixed by modifying the rapid lowering the slightly.Obviously change the schedule of placing insulin. The clear cold that influences me when I am constipated is very difficult to control it.All the best
@2piuviato1frts Noo the slow one I have well tight .... today I rise in 86 and every day I get up with good values (I put it in the morning), if I upload it more, descended down.I am slowly modifying the rapid ratios ... to see how ... thanks for your advice anyway.
