Hello!
Yesterday speaking with my son's endocrine, he offered me the possibility of putting an insulin bomb to my son.
He is only 20 months old ... Is it appropriate for him?
I think he is still very small and I don't know how to spend it is for a child who moves so much.
The truth is that the punctures every time carries them better and I think that putting a device that makes the movements difficult or that we do not know how to use can be counterproductive ... I am made a mess!
I will appreciate your opinions and experiences.

Hi @mothermom!The same thing happens to me.My son is 19 months old and TB told me to put the bomb.We are going to the courses and the truth that I don't see it.More than nothing because it is manual (I have to indicate to the bomb that quantity of your canvas put and gr. Of hydrates).Ahroa the only thing that I see positive is that the punctures are avoided.I don't know what to do because my son takes it very badly. As you click very little I have to do it with syringe and dilutions. It does not reach 0.5 of the pen. They have told me that he does not fall but I suppose that he would not be released every time he makes one of his somersaults on the couch.
I just know a little one who takes it but is 3.5 years….

@Rachel86 Well I see it the same as you.I think having to wear something put there for such a small child is a bit of a fattening although they are theoretically advances. It would also be manual that would put mine for what he told me.It won't take long either with diabetes, right?I do not know anyone with type 1 diabetes, except distant relatives.

@Mothermom Well we are the same."He debuted" In August, but I had no symptoms ... it was x chance and I am crazy with the values. There is no pattern, the measures do not make sense because I have to take it out of all insulin and the two days need again….And x that told me the bomb.I do not know your child, but mine is clicking so little that it has to be diluted and it is the only pro q I see the bomb.
They told me that age and x the little amount that the pump need cannot be put automatic 🤷🏻♀️
A friend with her son is delighted (he is 3.5 years old) but told me that the beginnings are equally complicated.Until we have not been difficult for months, it is difficult to stabilize them.My child is very sensitive.ALL.I am desperate the truth, this is 24h without living like this you are not alone jejeej we are many 😁

@Rachel86 Yes!We are more than what seems! My son debuted on September 8 with 18 for 19 months. He had a couple of days of drinking a lot of water and reached the extreme of escaping the spike of diapers in no time. That was what ignited my alarm and took it to the doctor. They told me that I was starting because luckily there was neither cetosis nor anything extreme. The world fell to me when the doctors told me, but it is what must happen to us all.And that is what you say, they are 24 hours without living ... come on, now they need us to be constantly there (more than before). My son does have more insulin (1 slowly and another at night the rapids in breakfast, food and dinner that vary between 1 unit and 2.5 and there we must add) let's go .. 6 punctures a dayinsured + those of the fingers do not take away anyone.I imagine that is why it takes it "better", I think this month has become accustomed because it is too much.I am sure that in addition to being very close children they will have it immediately as something normal, that it catches us differently: Smile:

I do not use bomb but if you were directly informing me with the manufacturer. They are not usually designed for such young children, a few years ago they were only prescribed from 6 years.
You have to be careful with the catheter and fluids, children are children I do not understand how pediatricians recipe it to children under 2 years, unless you have them tied in bed.

@Mothermom Ayyyyy because with the same age ... Sergio had no symptoms. He came out in a urine and surprise analytics !!!I honestly, if I could prick with a pen I left it as is….But with 0.20/0.30 I can't use it yet….The dilutions are a roll because you don't really know that it enters insulin and I think that they tell me about the bomb….Ufff suffers a lot with each puncture. The finger does not find out even to do it ... I am not convinced but esq but I do not know how to level it because I am blind with the insulin and that is not good either.I have the descents controlled by fear but a lot of climb because I don't know what enters him and cnd enters more the downturn.
I am very afraid of the @ruthbia bomb but I honestly don't know what to do.The manufacturer logically tells you that no, but because doctors yes ?????I went to a recommended Seville specialist paying apart and Tb told me that it didn't occur to me to reject it 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
Lately I see a lot
@Mothermom is what you say, they are very strong and will see it normal as the months go by.They have practically born with it.With what is done to the prick I would settle for me I can't be alone to prick him.
On top of that I eat very well but it is very lazy and it is costing me a world to pass to the solid so tell the hydrates and know what is going to eat….For me it is without living the truth.Where are you from???If you want to vent here I am hahaha

@Ruthbia clear ... I don't know what doctors raise it to us, I imagine that they have to give that option, but go, the children of a year and a half up to 3 play and do not understand what they carry on.You are helping me a lot to decide, thank you very much!
@Rachel86 That of the dilutions has to be complicated ... to mine the minimum that came to put with the pen is 0.5 when it has become very high, but not low.I already imagine that the thing is further complicated ... and the baby takes time, I really had a fatal, because I became nervous and that the child shows it, but my mother -in -law has been coming to help meA couple of weeks and now I click me alone, the child complains more when he sees the needle than when I click him.I think it's a matter of time ... At first he also entertained him with Masha's drawings and the bear he loves: Smiley: And it seems that he relaxed a little more.Anyway, courage and patience. The issue of meals is quite complicated and more in Purés.What I do is that I cook things apart by the eye and then I am weighing and adding. It is a bit roll but hey ... mine also started more now with the solid and luckily eats the iron, potatoes, baked chicken and thus (although it takes a lot). The task is the fruit, which ate a lot and now very little.I am from Valencia. You from Seville, right? We are here and we are counting!

Thanks @mothermom.
Buy the painless prick for the little one, it is going well, I also have it because I crushed my fingers and I bought one of 8 positions, in the 1st I did not find out.
The bombs are difficult to prescribe them, although lately the endocrine are more open to it, so a private doctor will tell you not to reject it.
I have already rejected it 3 times, I do not see myself with a catheter, which is a road, all the day.I am insurance, it is obstructed, etc.Every time they put a fatal happened to bruises, obstructions and later wounds.
As your babies use so little insulin, instead of clicking them quickly, I would make them run and jump to burn the carbohydrates.Check how glycemia lowers them, the same do not have to put 0.5 units, only when they need more than 1.5uds.

@Mothermom diluted insulin is what is put in babies and need it.My daughter, with 5 years I already noticed if we varied 0; 5 units.
The advantage of the pump in babies are the doses so small that can be put.
I would talk to other moms to see how they are doing. In the group of "pirates with diabetes" on Facebook, you can ask many mothers with.you drink..

Ayyy @regina thank you very much !!!I will look for that forum x face.Ufff I don't like the bomb but I think it's the only way that I am injecting what he needs.I think that the values that I have vary so much because you really do not know what enters….It is better is very diabetic that little hehehehe hurts me to say it but I am looking forward to that 0.5 can be click
@Mothermom I make the potito but weight the food in raw 🤷🏻♀️🙄 gave me some notes with what vary in raw and cooked.Esq is a mess and on top of solid it takes a thousand years and there comes a time that I don't know when to prick him.And do you eat away from home in a bar ???I don't know how to calculate the amounts of hydrates outside and you?X example, a croquette if I have not done it I do not know how much flour and others lead 😭😭😭 I need life !!!
My son does not let himself click on….I need help because it hurts a lot.Keep in mind that syringe is usually much more damage with such a pen tied home. The father of work has to come and go to help me
Thank you, you are helping us fabric !!

@Regina thanks, I will look at that forum too, that all information is welcome. This is a continuous learning :)
@Rachel86 I also have a kind of librettite that they gave me in the hospital with the variations in raw and in cooked or fried ... I cook it first because more than anything I throw a lot of potatoes ... and so I have for purés and to give themIn different ways in a couple of days.Pasta and rice get glycemia a lot, even if they are integral, so I give it very occasionally. And I still dare to give him anything without knowing how many hydrates it carries, because I think it is still a risk and I do not dominate it.Today, for example, we have gone to eat in 'Pícnic' plan, and although we leave the restaurant or the bar I take your prepared food.I don't know, I still have much to learn. What do you give yours at lunch and snack? It is that if I see that he is high to give him hydrates I give him a jelly 0 sugars that we carry anything and throw a lot from ham and French tortillas.

@Mothermom I did the potes with all the vegetables and logically the potato is what lies the puree….When he made 15gr of rice to the potito, he goes up a lot but the endocrine insists on giving him 3/4 rations of hydrates and sincerely, crushed my son eats me, but solid is not eaten more than one or two at most.If I put potato and rice for the rest, it does not enter and get tired and I will not stop giving it X protein to put the force hydrate….Esq click so little that if I only give dessert yogurt and every protein does not rise.I am very lost with meals
I ended up giving him the fruit in pieces, imagine if he is leeeeeento who does not upload daughter.
A normal white Danone yogurt is doing well.Turkey and ham soon tired
One question, you to upload when it is short what siphites of juice do you give you ??Because my son with a finger of the “without sugar“ goes to me 250… .It does not have a half -like time Imagine if I give it normal juice “explodes” 🤣🤦🏻♀️ is super sensitive to everything and prapt sometimes sometimesIt goes up and others not everything.X axis, the lentils did not rise as soon as I went to 250 with the same insulin.Namely ...Or in the eluciona entered what he wanted….

@Rachel86 as they told me in the hospital sometimes when they are so little insulin, it is possible that they do not enter at all and that is why he will upload more at a certain time.It also depends on the exercise I have done, because my child affects that a lot, he has to move (and less bad than he does, he is very restless), because he tends to upload a lot.He has not had barely down, when he has had some we give him a crushed fruit of that they sell in bags or tubs, but more than anything is that the juice I have only had to give him twice and it was in the hospital ... they gave himJUVER WITHOUT AGREED SUGARS AND AGREEED AGREED.He took half juice and had enough. It happens to mine that with the lentils do not hit up, that is great: Smiley: with a well -counted noodle soup the other day was put at 400 ... and another thing is the broth, which as it is cookedproven that we have it liada.Good chicken broth: Smiley:

@Mothermom goodooooo with 15gr of noodles is put in 300 slightly 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️.In the hospital they told me that to upload the dose is every 3 days when I see that the pattern is repeated but now I do not know how to upload according to those climbs or according to what it eats.He has a mess. This last week is coña.The TB juice bought that juver but the same rises a lot and I know children who take half of the normal and raise the fair ... ..
To my son if he goes down with exercise but esq he gets tired immediately. It is a bug at home but in the street in the park ends playing with the sand or others and goes from moving the truth a lot.Yesterday x axis, it was lowered to 60 of what took me in dinner 😭 and I did not upload like this to give some juice and chinpun.
TB bread affects barbarity. He loves and with 4/5 snacks is already a pass. This is a real mess I don't know if it is because they are so small influences them so much or q

Much encouragement, I read you and my mother what despair @Rachel86 @mothermom
I have no idea of insulin bombs but I would try to look for people with children so small that they use it because you will save you many headaches.I think they have already recommended the Pirate Facebook group.I leave the link:

@Rachel86 I imagine that each child will be a world ... and yes, they are very sensitive and you don't know how they will sit them according to what food and that.To mine I take the point, which in the morning is waking up 170 or so (today to 129) and I know that there it starts to lower more and more so that I immediately put the insulin, I hope according toWhat comes out and breakfast the rations that it has already put in a guideline that made us endocrine. There he puts what we have to put according to what comes out.Of course, there was a day that was 70 before eating and I did not put insulin and what a shit we did ... more than 400 after eating we had to do what we could, but now we know and everything serves to learn. To mine the good bread ... Pasta and rice is worse, which I already tell you that even if it is integral it rises a lot.Try to give less than half a juice or even the same if you like the fruit in puree, to see if it goes up more little by little.
Thank you very much.

Pasta and rice go up less if you cooks and then put them in the fridge until the next day, for the issue of resistant starch.

@Ricki21 I will, then.Tomorrow we tested with the pasta.Thank you!

Pasta, rice, bread, flours... They go up a lot, a lot.I avoid them especially in uncontrollable seasons.
I do not know if you can eliminate these hydrates and give them only vegetable hydrates, fruits, milk to better control blood glucose and raise protein. That would help you a lot at the beginning.
